Rare video of BP at the poker run lmao

The the dumbest shit I’ve seen in racing. More money than brains for sure.

Bummed your car isn't here for ya . I think it is still worth the wait though , there pretty damn cool .
I know it's going to be worth the wait, but this is the second year in a row that I have a Desert Bash entry and no Speed UTV.

I'm really bummed because pretty much everyone I know in Havasu is participating in Desert Bash. Hell, even my general contractor building my house is doing it.

What really is a mental fuck, is Speed told me I would have my car for Desert Bash for the last two years.😭

Rent one? There is no faster vehicle than a rental UTV. :)

For $100 I’ll nerf Ian before he smashes a blue hair.

I just forwarded this to the Havasu Chamber of Commerce and they are revoking your entry.

On a serious note.. bring your waivers if you have not sent them in already!

FYI - The waiver does not say anywhere you can’t nerf anyone. In fact it says that damage to your vehicle may occur on the run. It also says that the only thing they would ban you for is leaving the marked trail or not cleaning up your broken parts or fluids. 😂

PS - For $200 I’ll nerf Ian on the way there in the morning.

Heard it was probably Ian.
He was warned and should have gotten out of Ian’s way.

Other than the racers out on the coarse it was a great day out. We made it back with just one flat tire that was able to limp back to their trailer. The wife and son both commented that they had a blast and the car was much more comfortable with all of the changes made. I do want to take up @LargeOrangeFont offer to mess a bit with the shock settings.

I hardly got any pictures because we were playing catch up the whole time with my kids. lol.

We had a great time again this year namely just seeing everyone out in the dirt and friends I o oh get to see once a year..

I stole most these pics off Facebook.. lol.

Speed car ran great with no problems and I was extremely impressed with the handling and control you have with it.. makes anyone a wanna be race car driver. lol.

Gave a shitload of people Rides in it that were curious and had a few go drive it..

Ian actually got him back before dark!

What time did all the cars leave in the morning? We finished breakfast at I want to say 8:30 am and it was a ghost town.. We ended up running like 20-30 miles going back and forth trying to find which way everyone went.. I believe after the last car they pulled the course markers.

We ended up going out one way and finding mile marker 18.

On a side note, I'm not sure who is putting on Desert Bash nowadays, but the vibe has certainly changed.. The vendor village thing is all but empty every time I looked over there. I went over to get our packet at 4:30 on Saturday and they said they were closed so I didn't get my shirts etc.. (no big deal).

It was a complete ghost town, there was a band playing to nobody. Pretty large area and my daughter (12 years old) drove my speed car, and asked me where to go, so I said well just pull up to the booth. You'd thought we robbed a store.. LOL. They were super rude about it.. I was looking around at a giant empty lot the size of two football fields thinking who gives a shit? There's nobody in here? Anyhow after getting yelled at by two different dudes we just left.

It's a shame because that event used to be super fun, and everyone would congregate in the vendor village and talk about the day.. They used to have cheeseburgers and chili cheese dogs etc..

Seems like it's catering more to older folk now.. Most the motorhomes were gone when we got up the next morning at 8:00 am..

Stupid question but why would you take the side road through the tree, when the main trail is right next to it?

RD
Let me ask me son who was driving. LOL. Didn‘t even notice other than him trying to kill us with the the tree branch now that I watched it. LOL

I'm wondering what it actually takes to put something like this on out in the desert.. It can't be that hard? @Sportin' Wood

Permit and Insurance is the toughest part. It will take about 18 months.

I'm not sure if this BLM district requires an EIS (Environmental Impact Study) for the route, but chances are they do. If you stay inside the OHV area, you have an easier time; that is why Ultra4 stayed inside the park. It will ramp up costs and time if BLM wants an EIS. I suspect this is why you see the same route used all the time.

The dirty little secret is that obtaining a media (Film) permit is much easier than an SRP. You can get those in days with little oversight.

I agree with your evaluation; I felt the same last year. IMHO they are living off the entry fee and not trying to provide value to sponsors outside those at a card stop. It really boils down to a minimum viable product to make a few bucks, I would guess.

It seems far easier to make a deal with them to take over the vendor village and let them deal with the liability of the poker run.
