Where are you finding used auto parts since Craigslist sucks?

I've done a decent job at keeping my 95 F350 alive using used bits and pieces as I need them. Creeping up on 400k miles, things just wear out. Currently need a nice tailgate and a bunch of pimp red interior pieces since drywall screws are holding everything together. Craigslist was good to me for a lot of years but appears to be dead these days.

Is Facebook marketplace the only answer? Are there other sites I'm just not savvy enough to know about?

I'd say raid my stock pile for interior stuff, but you're a little far away. Good luck!

I have sold a lot of old stock parts to Green Sales. I have not tried to find any parts from them.

Since I moved out of California the pick your part yards look amazing. There’s actually some mid teens trucks and such there. All the yards in SoCal were picked clean and there wasn’t a car over 1995 on the lot.

What exactly you looking for?

Door panels, interior pieces in red and a nice tailgate with good trim piece are on the current radar. In general, I was interested in where everyone went with Craigslist drying up. I honestly wish I had time to hit junkyards again- I used to love that.

eBay would be your best bet.

Wash, look up "Broncos and Parts Garage" on YT, Instagram or Facebook. He does used interior stuff for OBS Fords. I am working on getting some door panels from him right now for my '93 F150.

Facebook market place. But I get 1 response per like 10 messages I send

^ this....I was looking for an odd part for a very old outboard, even posted on here, and nobody seemed to know how to source it...I joined and old outboard group page on FB and posted it, within that same day I had the part headed my direction for free from someone in the group trying to help...

For car and truck parts plus wheels and tires I really miss the Recycler and for the matter Auto Trader, both came out on Thursday afternoons. I bought and sold so many vehicles and wheels and tires, plus miscellaneous crap like old barbecues or pallets that were left at work. Social media kind of killed all that and not really for the better.

If you where closer I'd send you to my father in law. He has 7-8 OBS running trucks and probably 5 in the boneyard and a pile of parts. And I'm pretty sure he has a red/maroon one with decent interior in the boneyard. Not sure he would have a straight tailgate as he owns a landscape company and all he uses is OBS fords but tailgates usually get beat up.

I hadn't heard of offer up before posting this thread. I'll check it out for sure.
A lot of flakes. Have not had 1 person show up. And I price things cheap.

I have bought a few items. But majority of the time they don't even reply. I send my phone number and say I want to buy please call. No response. A lot of them will only message through it. No matter how many times you ask for there number or send yours.

There is a LA asset

recovery group selling CAT skidsteer grapple buckets. I would pay full price. Have tried on several accounts to get a number or a response no luck if anyone else could get through I would appreciate it.

Have you tried Bulldogs here in Havasu and the junkyard off I 40?
And there's more junkyards out in
Fort Mojave.

For stuff like that (finding used) - your best bet is gonna be to join some FB groups or online forums for those year trucks and look at what members are selling, or post a "wanted" ad. Check the reproduction parts companies for new stuff, as a few have posted. LMC Truck, Brothers, etc. Some forums or enthusast groups can probably point you in the right direction as to what the "go to" companies are that are remaking stuff.

FB Marketplace and offerrup are hit and miss, and getting responses are definately a "1 out of 10" - but don't stop checking there, gold pops up

I had a set of Harley Heritage Softail tins with a small dent in the fuel tank for sale on craigslist. I got a call from a young guy (maybe 19 or 20) who lived about two hours away. He said he was learning to do custom paint and wanted them. I couldn’t be home when he could be there, soI told him I’d leave the tins on the porch and to leave the money under the mat. I came home to find the tins gone and the money under the mat. I still have faith in most people.

I bought my grapple off CL and had the same issue with communication. When I showed up to pick it up the guy was Eastern European and spoke poor English. Knocked $200 off for cash.

More than once if I was on the hunt for something I was the guy in the 7 Eleven parking lot waiting for them to drop off the new ones for the week. :p

Prescott Valley has a salvage yard called U Pick It. They have a good assortment of vehicles. Basically pack a tool box and pull your own parts, very reasonable prices. When I was running my 2000 Chevy Astro, i would need an occasional hard to come by part. The place is laid out well, easy to find your part.😎
