110 plus we always headed to a beach in the gorge. You’d never know it was that hot.

On the way back one last dip about a mile from the lake mouth in prep for the blast furnace.

128 in Havasu 1994 was miserable, couldn't dive down far enough...

120 everything is hot.

120 at 3pm and doing 70mph in the boat feels like you stuck your head in the oven.

Usually the best part is not sitting at a beach it’s cruising the boat. Anything above about 114 and people start looking miserable on board.

About 10 years ago we schedule a week out there. First day 117, second day 116, midnight of the second day we went home. Anytime its getting close to 110 we just stay home.
110 is my number. I did a 118 last year and I vowed never again. Im too old I guess.

Went out two weekends ago, 115, we were good. On the water, no problem. Get out early and off early. Coming off the water at 3 was rough, my buddy got heat exhaustion and passed out after wiping the boat down on the ramp. Gotta drink lots of water!! We like to wear long sleeve sun shirts like the fishermen use too

There is a thread on here arguing the value of RV garage build vs depreciating boat values and I laugh. I don't want a rv garage for my boat.... it is for me.
Hell no I'm not wiping a boat down at the ramp at 115. I do it at 8pm inside the garage with beer as my excuse to hide after dinner.

My cutoff is June-August. I have zero desire to be in anything over 90*😂

June to September for me. I have better things to do in the summer...

It’s not the high temp that’s the cutoff or problem… it’s the nighttime lows. Phx low for the next week is 94 degrees. Havasu low for the next week is 90. That’s what kills you!

I live in nor cal Central Valley, tomorrow and Sunday we will be at 110. I sold my boat 2 years ago, our cutoff was about 98. After that no can do but I’m 67 now. In Havasu we tried the the 115 heat and said no more. Where I’m at we have between 10 and 13 days of high triple digits for us. Not Havasu heat but it will get your attention.

exactly, i dont have a place out there so ive never had the luxury of wiping down in AC. but im for damn sure not wiping it down in the middle of the day at 115° I hate wiping it down at the ramp period. ill do it at night with a whiskey in my hand.

A boat garage is different than an RV garage 😂.

I don’t know why people wipe down on the ramp in the summer.

For those saying 115, who can tell the difference between 115 and 120? Seems to me at 115 gets to the point where you cant tell the difference its just HOT!
Agreed. Living in PHX, everything over 100 is "hot". 5, 10, 15, degrees more doesn't seem to change much.

No limit before...but now its 110... we thought we would retire in LHC but now not too sure...:)
The only way I could retire in LHC is to do what my next door neighbors do. They hit the road in their Motorhome and go up North from 4th of July thru Labor Day.

I'm out for boating when it gets >115°F. I've done a 123°F day in Parker once. Thought I died and went to Hell, lol.

Walked up the Princess cove ramp at 120, truck said 125. Grabbed a warm water from the truck and stood by a cliff that had an updraft from the cold lake water. Felt good while waiting for the ac to cool.
Im okay 120, the crew not so much.

With the limited availability of time to make trips, temps don't matter much. 120 to me feels the same as 105. I "like" 95-105, but have been on the water anywhere from 65 to 127 or so. I think the cutoff will be when my wife says "no", but it hasn't happened in close to 30 years. I'm sure the time will come soon, but for now we still try whenever we can.

Anything over 110 is not as comfortable as it used to be.

115 I start to feel the effects. But I am still willing to get out on the water at any point. However, some that boat with me have differnt opinions and that makes the day a lot more difficult. 😭😭😭😭

We were anchored out with 4 boats, we had a 47' foot with two large A/C's. No one left the mother ship from the time they got there until they went home.

I've done it in all temps over the years. I prefer comfort now. We mainly boat March to June and September, October. I stop going when it's 110 unless I have friends that want to go out. It's the difference of being young and can't afford the trip, to having a house and can go whenever.

It’s hotter than taco grease!!

My wife asked if I wanted to go on our friends boat at like 3 o’clock. I just laughed, I said have fun with that.

I sleep in my truck bed when I'm out there . . . so 110 is where I tap-out.
Not because of the daytime heat, but because it never cools down enough at night for Me to get comfortable enough to sleep.
This winter I'm going to build a false tailgate with a cutout for a small 5000 BTU window style AC unit & run it off my little Honda Generator at night.
I've seen a couple cool build-out vids, & one guy tested his In Death Valley at 126, and it got down to 78 inside his shell.
He did have an EZ Up for shade over his truck bed.

Crap… I leave for Pirates this Sunday for a week. 1/2 tempted to cancel. My trailer has 3 ACs, but still. 120 during the days, 100s at night. Gah.

This. Our neighbor in Havasu is gone from Memorial Day to at least Labor Day in the RV. This would be our plan if we retire there.

Question from a Keys guy, what are the water temps? We are in the 90’s right now.
Water temp will get 90 in the peak of summer. Two years ago we were in a cove on the lake and the air temp was 121 with a surface water temp of 90. I have seen my pool at 106 with the bubble cover on. Crazy hot!

I’m heading out to Parker Wednesday for a long weekend. 116° and a chance of thunderstorms might keep me off the water.
