Keep in mind I have 100s of big ass trees out here on the property. A friend said just hire some guys....that would cost 10s of thousands and not even an option. Gives me something to do......but the "its only one tree..." deal aint working. Lol

I’ve found renting a wood chipper is the same price as hauling it to a green waste facility (In Ca anyway). And I can use the chips. I have approx 25 Engleman Oaks and various other trees I need to trim up or remove. The slash pile builds quick!

I have cedar and oak. The cedars are the ones out of control. Not as bad as my neighbors though.

Thats a good idea on the rental....plus the cedar is a natural bug repellant. Thanks for the suggestion. I wasnt even thinking that way on it. I dod look into purchasing one along with a stump grinder but decided against that for now

HOAs can be a pain in the ass. They came after me in AZ when I added somewhere north of a 1k tons of fill dirt and crushed granite. Told them basically to fuck off. They left me alone after that. Lol

Am I the only red neck here that sees a beautiful bon fire in the making?

Invite friends, bbq, music, beer, and FIRE!
I live in an area surrounded by trees. I will not be that guy that burns the hood down. Lol

Now....if I was out in the desert somewhere absolutely!

Rent a chipper or find a place that takes green waste cheap or free. I can pack my 12' dump trailer with a lot of branches. Put in a layer then chainsaw and tamp it down then keep repeating.

This!
In the 60's we'd stack that shit root ball and all in a big pile with a dozer, throw a couple of old tires down first, douse it with diesel fuel and light it. That shit would burn for days. 😆

Get a couple of goats and let them go at it. Don’t they eat that kinda stuff. We used to take old Christmas trees to a friends place and they had goats that loved them. BTW I have no experience with them personally.

Tom two things you need on a big property full of trees like you now own.

1. build a small fire pit out in an open area somewhere to just hang out on the weekends( or during the week for you retired Folk) with a whiskey in one hand and a cigar in the other. Doesn't need to be a big one just something that you can start burning off all the foliage which you are going to for sure acquire.

2. Go to a local equipment auction and find yourself an old full size wood chipper. Those little ones posted in the post above won't do anything for the amount of wood you're going to be shoving through. Couple of $1,000 for an older unit put $500 into it and you'll be styling

I am not sure. Dont know how the goats and pups would work out though. I suspect there could be a lot of laughs though ;)

Lesson learned here Go big or stay home , Bought a "small chipper shredder" Guess what its a small chipper shredder cheaper to rent a big ass one. The small troy built I bought just didnt cut it It choked on 3 to 4 inch stuff big time
