Headed south on Norwalk Blvd. He got on it a couple of times and it launched well.

i wouldnt call it a gasser.. no striaght fron taxle and sits too low. i see a shearer fab intercooler on top of what i assume is an ls. dont see a radiator tho.. kinda puzzled how hes keeping it cool.
Very small radiator and lots of methanol from the top?

My guess was a ‘56 since it looks just like the one we garaged for years for my cousin. 😬

I want to say it's a 55 by the size of the fins. 56 and 57 grow up significantly enough to usually see a large difference.

I'm no expert on 55-57's though, the glass and windows say 56.

Not all gassers ran straight axles and sat sky high. A lot of guys running gas classes couldn't afford to or had the ability to convert to a straight ax.

I would call this car a "gasser style" or gasser influenced car. This car also has a turbo which would have never been run in the gasser days. Still, a pretty cool car.

The problem is, the term "Gasser" has become so bastardized that anything can be called a gasser now. I've seen all kinds of ridiculous stuff, including late model front wheel drive crap called a gasser.

I vote 56 and NOT a gasser. 100 percent with Kevin on this one.

My vote would be 56 because of the rear wheel well. The way the cut is angled towards the back on stock 56. On 55’s, they drop straight down in front and behind the tire.
Just my .02.

Yep, and those are definitely 56 front fenders, and 55 tail lites would not fit in those rear body panels, nothing says 55.

there were many Gas class cars that ran a-arms. But, I'm with you, the drivetrain is a bit too modern to have the look of a "Gasser".

The side trim is short on that 56, Maybe to different side trim levels, Most run the full length on a 56.

This is my street/strip '55 Bel Air (we took all the trim off and filled the holes in.) So far it's best pass has been 8.52 @161 mph in the 1/4. It usually runs consist 8.60s and consistently kills Hemis. I'm working on the killing Hemis part. lol
