If you were giving a million dollars what would you do with it?

I'd buy a bunch of gold and silver, a few rental properties and used F29.:thumbsup

Invest in these dirt cheap properties in good areas like the San Gabriel Valley. Fix them up slowly and rent them out. Maybe I'd buy a storage place out at the river or here in the LA area. :thumbsup

Nice avatar Ultra Dennis. Ron Paul is awesome. :D

After paying a bunch of bullshit taxes, I'd be lucky to afford a used DCB. Million bucks doesn't go far anymore..

2 chics at the same time....

Ok, so I move into a cardboard box under a bridge, and use the money to convince 2 hookers to move in with me.
Remember the old joke about a farmer who gets a million bucks? He says he'd just keep farming til it was all gone.

Title should say " How would you piss away 1 million bucks".

I see this is a masturbatory fantasy, why stop at 1 million? LOL!:champagne:

Million bucks doesn't go far anymore..

Isn't that the truth.

The reality is, almost anyone of us could gain a net worth in excess of one million dollars. It's not even that difficult but it takes hard work and commitment.

... but spending $300K on a new boat that is worth $230K once you hook it to your truck is not the way to do it.

Buying toys on credit is not the way to do it.

I'm pretty sure buying Lucas Oil products, however, will contribute to net worth by increasing engine longevity and reducing maintenance. :thumbsup :D

The sad reality is that in todays economy, the return on a million dollars wouldn't go very far. I remember when I would dream of having a million dollars and retire and live off the interest. Just couldn't make it these days. :grumble:

Pay off my house throw the rest in the bank after taking a nice vacation..

Perhaps a down payment on a retirement house that I could rent out and pay off in the next 10 years.

Excellent point. 3 decent sized houses. Every now and then you'd have to fix stuff but that would be a decent income on top of everything else. :thumbsup

Had two friends who won a while ago. One of them quit working and pulled some nice amount of interest per month . No more , a mil isn't worth shit to sit on.
I'd keep working and buy used stuff [ 2FF ] and enjoy it.

That's about what I would do. It wouldn't change my life a bunch.

Might I suggest holding 300 back and buying a new fucking phone. Just saying.

Sent from the liquor store around the corner.

I have two sons.
Some of it would be set aside for them as a rainy day fund, not available for them to piss away.
I would take my Mother on the Alaskan Cruise she has always dreamed about, and pay off her little mortgage so she could enjoy the years she has left.
I have a couple of friends who are hard workers, and they have had a tough time of it lately. I would help them.
I would give some to a couple of charities.
The rest I would use to mitigate the impact coming hard times will have on my family.

Maybe a new set of tires for the bug. Definitely switch to Coors Light bottles for a couple weeks; been drinking cans way too long.

Other than that, biz as usual- just with a lumpier mattress.

If I came into some big money, I'd put a new swoosh stripe on the Glastron.
