The one you purchased. Not the one you grew up on... the one you slapped down some of your own cash for?

Mine was a 1976 Southwind/ Jet. My brother and I went in on it together.

I had some aluminum fishing boat when I was about 12.

First real boat is the one in my avatar. '75 Nordic V-drive flat. I think I was 17, LOL.

1976ish horizon jet boat. Most rotted out POS ever. Was not allowed one at my parents so bought a house and picked the first boat up that I could. Met the guy at midnight and boat wouldn't start. Like an idiot I said "I'll take it". Completely rotted, holes drilled through gas tanks and floor, 3 cylinders cracked top to bottom. Boat was worth about 300 bucks cause the gauges were brand new, I gladly handed him 3,300 bucks. Was towed in all 4 times I took it out.

After that boat I was hooked. :bash:

I would bet most :newbie's don't realize that most of us start with a modest first boat and make fun of the ones we've owned at one point.

Mine was a Glaspar G3. Old boat, can't remember what year it was. It had a Merc outboard, maybe 60 to 80 hp.

The first boat I bought was an 89 Canyon Marine 21ft open bow "shit box", Carter Reed special. Sold that P.O.S. and bought a 2 year old 89 Eliminator 21ft open bow.

76 brendella jet. Parents weren't thrilled so I had to keep it at a friend's house. Had more fun with that POS over a couple seasons than anything since! Just had to make sure the 1st run was upriver so we could float back

First AND LAST ONE was with two stroke outboard;):p. All others were inboards, V-drives and sterndrives.
The no name boat was made by a craftsman in the old country:thumbsup Would love to have it today and put some decent engine in it.

14' Valco aluminum boat with a 25hp hand tiller outboard. Actually would tow around my friends in a tube but could only turn in one direction because I had to tie off to one side of the transom. More fun that a 16 year old should have.

First boat would be my current Stoker. First watercraft would have been a 1996 Sea Doo XP and a 1999 Sea Doo GTX Limited.

The first boat I really remember riding in with great detail was my old man's 21 RC TT v-drive. I was spoiled from that point on and told my dad he ruined me for ever being able to just go out and buy a boat...so I waited and saved and my first boat is my current Schiada TT.

1962 Spico - 455 olds with a BW Velvet trans. Who knows how many times it was re-powered. Radar at 81 mph. Scary fast in that boat.

Partners with my father and I eventually bought him out. 23 years old going to the river as much as I could.

1971 19' Raysoncraft V-drive with a mahogany deck. Boat was beat to fock!!! Had good casale split case v-drive, 2 speed pg trans and mild 350 sbc. The mahogany deck was trashed, and I actually bought the boat for the motor and drive line...but it ran. So I took it to Lake Mohave for a test run. The deck was delaminating, so I did some hack-job of fiberglass repair and painted the deck with a roller!!! Boat ran great...leaked water and oil, so you couldn't put anything on the floor or it got ruined fast. Ran the thing thru some decent mochoppy and the deck started coming off! Well it held together to the launch ramp...so it was all good.

The funniest part was all the river rats that came out of the shadows to look at this beat down v-drive...wanting to know if it was for sale. LOL

1949 Kelson Craft bought new (okay, my dad bought it) with 18HP Evinrude outboard. 22-23 mph WOT at Lake Arrowhead -- wasn't fast enough so soon upgraded when the 25 HPs came out.

1971 16' Tahiti with a 115 Merc. Blue and white with "It's So Easy" on the bow. Got a lot of use out of that boat at Havasu and Parker in the day. I'm sure it's still on the water somewhere.
