This. The DOW was at 24,4XX 4 years ago, 23,3XX 2 years ago, closed at 34,200 today.
So you are now a financial expert? You still work don't you? At your age I was semi retired for 10 years. Fully retired now and self funded with no help from anybody.

Get back on your hamster wheel rook

Stay the F out of my way as I have done for you.

Clearly you aren't telling people they might be "up" on their low T investments. 😀

It is an open forum, no one is in your "way".

Is semi retired like being semi pregnant?

How about a Preferred Stock?

Maybe Verizon. Solid dividend and probably a little growth.

I bought T four years ago for the div and the growth. All I got was the div and 15% loss (excl div). Hopefully T or the new WBD advances since supposedly the saddlebags have been cut off.

I have all this free time because I'm not busy polishing my Turds for years.
Possibly, and maybe those who went out of their way to insist they were money ahead because of their speed car deposits should just stay on the sidelines when a financial investment thread pops up.😉

Certain Preferred's can actually be a great deal right now. You can pick up prefereds at a substantial discount. Preffereds at $25 par paying 4% are now priced at $20. that equates to almost 6% and that is qualified dividends which means only 15% income tax. I have a bunch of those 4% preferred’s I bought at par. LOL oh well.

I am not suggesting anybody buy T. I was just trying to help 2DRiver feel better about his ownership and threw out some rough numbers to consider.

Vs someone trying to justify the investment may at best be flat but it is still underwater. 😂😂

The UTV deposit is outperforming the T stock at this point, but I digress.

No one can predict the future……..

The advice I am going to give might not be for 2driver specifically, but it’s just a generalization of the current market.

Real Estate prices are through the roof. Inflation is up. Gas is up. Rent is up. What are the people that are going to be displaced or moving going to need?

Here is the advice……. Buy into a R.E.I.T. (Real Estate Investment Trust) that is building a self storage facilities/Boat-RV Storage. This industry is booming right now. Google it. Some of the facilities in Texas are unbelievably massive……. and full! The demand continues to grow all over the country. Prices for storage have never been higher.

Personally……. I am shopping for land right now to build my own Boat-Rv complex. No partners…… because I’m greedy!

Think about it……. It’s like owning an apartment complex, but nobody lives there. If the tenant leaves, you sweep it out, and it’s ready to rent immediately to somebody else. It can also be done as an absentee owner. At least for me, I only plan on having 20 units. 15,000sf

Agreed. I wish I would have bought a storage facility in 2012.

Was looking at my stocks and noticed a trade. We sold the T today and held onto the spin off stock

This isn't done often in my portfolio but when something changes it can happen. Looks like T cut their div payment so my guy has seen enough. I guess he didn't care about the div payment that is in effect for holders as of 4-14-22

So much for that one.....lol
