We don't seem to have a "cruise" speed - When I am on the lake we are going someplace to either have lunch or hang out ie PC or Sandbar etc. so it seems the only time I run less than flat out is in a no wake zone or in the channel - with the prop I have now that means 4500 @ 62 up river or 4600 & 68 down river.

Just read my post and I have a typo. I run 36 props which is a slight difference.

I would knock the can plate off the back of my drive with 36p props. Oh, and wouldn't be able to get on plane:(

Do most of you guys have GPS or are you just going off the water pressure gauge? Some pretty crazy cruising for stock power in this thread. :p ;):D

I'm reading off the GPS, but maybe I should install a pito tube. The boat would probably gain a few MPH:boobeyes:

Gps. I need to buy a new one though I think. I heard if I buy one off eBay my boat will go faster. :D

That's gotta be good for 5-10mph, but you gotta put the sticker on the boat when you install it.

So it sounds like a 3 or 4 blade prop is better for speed, but a 5 blade is better for cruising/mid range. Does this hold true for all hulls?

Seeing as my boat will only go 55 topped out I'm usually cruising much slower than that. :D

Where did I put that last issue of PB? Darn it! Never can find shit when I need to..........

Definitely GPS.

If my STV was running, it cruises best around 85-90 at about 7000rpm and gets almost 4mpg...this would be on nice water...less than 1.5' chop.

pokey, thats what happens when u fall into the trap and get married...poor guys..:D:p

Oh yea, but lucky for us MM, we don't have too worry about that "look", right?..:p

Yeah it really sucks having a smoking hot wife hanging off my arm most of the time. Also getting laid pretty much whenever I want gets a little old too.....:D

Sure wish I was single again so I could spend more time with the fellas.....;)

Top up 45 to 55 makes for a nice ride.

Gps'ed it today... 50 @ 3000, 65 @ 4k... 85 @ 5k. the prop I'm running doesn't carry the bow worth a shit and I didnt want Wheeler to soil my seat so that was it...The way I see it if I can ever get my Menkins prop duplicated I should hit at least 107 at 6k : )

I cruise between 3500-4000 rpm's. That's where it seems happy and it's still on the primaries so I'm not sucking too much fuel down.
