What size is my nut?

We just moved and I cant find shit and I want to test some props in the morning, I need to go to lowes and buy the socket, what size is the nut for Merc XR, ie the fat shaft? Is it 1 1/16 or metric?

I believe it's 55 lb-ft.

While we're on the subject...How often are you guys replacing the lock nut on your XR? I've been running the same one for years and I'm sure it's not as effective as a new one.
