Looking for a quality outdoor security camera setup. I’d like something that I can view from my phone but want better quality than the ring/blink style. Doesn’t have to be wireless either. Thinking I want 6 cameras. Thanks!

Swann but I would get better, cameras are fine but their DVR and the software to access the DVR suck

I have installed a 24 camera hard wired DVR system with 8tb hard drive from these guys. On line remote monitoring and no monthly fees...shit ain't cheap but works well. Used them extensively in commercial surveillance.

ARLO

The subscription service is nice. $23.95mo
I have (6) Arlo wireless cameras that pickup motion. You cannot record all the time with wireless since it'll burn the batteries up. Works great, nice quality. Got from Costco.

Also, have hard wired AvertX cameras from Costco as well. Excellent quality. You can review back for months, every second of the day. Have at my business and home. Can see both sites on the app or computer.

The apps are easy to use and open up right away to see real time or review past motion.

Best value, wyze. Ring “elite“ are good(Poe for power and connectivity.) If you want more features your own NVR and cameras,(they all have remote apps available now). Costco has descent systems. Most brands are made by Hikvision(China). For more custom solutions you can choose your own nvr, size of hard drives, camera quality like long distance license plate quality, motorized, 360* cameras etc…find a local dealer or on line, Hunt is Hickvisions oem brand and good customer support in socal. If you want NDAA certified(no back door by China) there are some expensive American made stuff. Or Luma, fair price, sold through custom installers from the largest integrator distributor in the US.
Edit, and ubiquiti is good, I use a lot of their A/Ps, bridges, routers. but if installing yourself their customer support is lacking.

I’ve been running our Ubiquitity system(6 cameras) for the 3 years now and we’re still very happy with the product. I’ll probably add 4 more when I’ve got the time.
I bought everything off of FB marketplace or OfferUp and maybe have $1,000 into everything.

Ring with solar. Have 5 at home and 1 in havasu.
Zero issues. Picks up motion and sound great. Easy app also
I bought the solar panel for my river camera and it cuts out the WiFi when plugged in.
Searched online and there were many others that experienced the same issue with no way to resolve it. ????

I have Ring at the River and house. About a year old. They seem to miss a lot now. I will get packages and the 2 cameras don't have anything recorded. I try and look back at stuff and it loads but doesn't show anything.

This is a good thread. Want to change it up on the next one. Problem is I didn't run ethernet or cat 6 cables. Just power to each camera location.

I’ve been really happy with Blink.
Use them too. I jut hate the motion activation at times like when one of us gets home I get alerts like crazy. Or if
One of use is working out front.but at times I’ll just turn them off.

But if I get motion at night I’ll look as it’s not normal.

We have LTS Commercial Security 4K/8MP cameras in Havasu also at a commercial property in Monrovia. They are hard wired IP cameras easily acssessable from your phone. I believe both recorders have a 6TB harddrive. The cops in Monrovia have used our footage several times on different cases. I wish I knew how to post a video on here. There was a shootem up right in front of the building a couple of years ago. Not very good shots I might add.

Very happy with my Reolink system. 16 channels, POE cameras with WiFi cameras on more remote locations. No subscription, but still have remote viewing and push notifications. I think I have 4tb. I really like the full 180° this camera captures.

After the Venezuela gangs were caught using wifi blockers to rob homes I am thinking about going hard wired.
