45 years.. never cold called knocked on a door... if the roof is SHOT... there's a reason.... THEY CANT AFFORD TO REPLACE ITI've kind have always gone with the theory that if your trade is needed, your trade will be sought out. Drywallers don't go door to door, neither do plumbers or electricians. Shiny guys wearing polo shirts walking door to door? Nope, I'll listen to the Mormons or the JW's first.

I think it's something they do in states with hail damage. After big storms they converge on the area like vultures for that insurance money. Not sure if that's what's going on here or not. Sounded like they were solar/roofing.45 years.. never cold called knocked on a door... if the roof is SHOT... there's a reason.... THEY CANT AFFORD TO REPLACE IT
Storm chasers are definitely a real thing. Those guys make good money, as in they would leave Cali in old beat up trucks, and come back from Oklahoma driving brand new ones.I think it's something they do in states with hail damage. Same! Our front door camera is our "caller ID".
If we don't recognize you, we don't acknowledge your presence.
This scene popped in my head. I think that'd do it..They don’t take a no for answer. Maybe I should answer the door with a rifle sling over my shoulder.
Just tell them you kick the tires they’ll leave.Solar guys here are constantly knocking on my door ignore my no soliciting sign.

Or their assJust tell them you kick the tires they’ll leave.
My house sits about 3-400ft from the closed gate, that has a no trespassing sign. It's only open when I'm expecting someone.Living out in the middle of nowhere I always have a gun when I answer the door. First thing I ask the door knocker is "do you have a solicitors permit"? When they say no they are told to leave and the gun becomes visible.
Dammit, I have to watch that!
Last time I had a knock on my door at the old house the alarm got turned off, had my 4 pits with me and a gnu in my hand when the door was opened. "Ya....what is it?" lol Guy back away very quickly......see yaMy house sits about 3-400ft from the closed gate, that has a no trespassing sign. It's only open when I'm expecting someone.
If there's a knock at the door, it really gets your attention...and you answer accordingly.
I let the German Shepard out the back door. It’s pretty funny watching these guys run off the property lol. They always shut the gateSolar guys here are constantly knocking on my door ignore my no soliciting sign.

It is an excellent movie.Dammit, I have to watch that!
Its a cool movie for sure....Dammit, I have to watch that!
There’s a right and wrong way for both parties. You’re moving to Texas soon, expect that shit after each thunderstorm in the spring. From multiple companies. I don’t blame the home owner.

Guy with the gun escalated to an unreasonable point.
Classic!I point my “no soliciting” sign and explain that if they’re too fucking stupid to read I don’t want them working on my house.
It’s a great movie.Dammit, I have to watch that!
The movie Second Hand Lions will show you how to deal with salesman!

Entirely possible that it's fake. But, I watch a lawn guy that does free makeovers for the content, he films all of his interactions. A lot of people are filming the most mundane interactions now simply to try to build a platform. Is this real? Who knows, so much staged crap out there.Seems staged to me.
Why would a door to door salesman be mic'd up and have someone filming him?
