What is a "gated" B&M Shifter and why is that an improvement?

RD

This feature is a nice to have safety item. For instance if your going up a steep hill and the front end comes up and you feel like your going to flip over backwards you can instantly slam the tranny into reverse and gas back out of the flip. Your not doing that if you have to take the time to look at the indicator - your done!

I did this one on my RZR and it was a lifesaver on my recent 3-day Baja trip. It holds a large Costco tote and a cooler perfect.

@Bpracing1127 and I have been looking at the Tusk setup.

It is about $300 and you need to provide seat bases as well. The Tusk is nice because you can just pop in either rear seat, or both, but there are no sides like yours.

Thanks for the heads up, this is a other good option.

Here is the Tusk rear setup. They also offer one for the front passenger seat.

This one pops right in the seat location and you can use one or both sides. No need to provide seat bases.

Not to be redundant, but you need no hardware from the existing rear seats for yours? No latches or bases?

If so that makes it very compelling.

Well, I....

Wish I would have bought a side by side?

Cant stop thinking about those Can Am's?

Yeah, just thinking about how if I had bought one where I'd dispose of all the parts that would break and how I could get it up to a mighty 200HP.

What’s the ballpark $$$ for a car for that class?

1. Added a Rugged Radio and Intercom system.
2. Added Simpson seat and 5 point seatbelts
3. Added interior lights
4. Added 5150 whips
5. Added an AO Cooler
6. Added battery terminals so I don't have to mess with moving the passenger seat
And Baja Designs light bars are on the way.

No hardware or bases at all...This is the way to go...the latch and base are built into the bottom of the rack.

I have 5800 miles on my 2016 XP1000 and all the clutch components were worn out so I purchased a Duraclutch set up. Throttle is more responsive and the engine braking is a lot better. The car no longer starts freewheeling going down hill. A great improvement over stock. I also built a dog seat so the dogs could cruise around when I am just site seeing.

Depends on how crazy you want to get.... You can run a fairly "stock" car other than the mandatory safety stuff (cage, seats, belts, suits, helmet etc). I went a "little" overboard on my build, its actually going to be set up to run Pro Class less having doors that open (can weld them shut and will meet Pro Spec). If you already have a stock car, I think $10k or so gets you racing.

Mine is going be a lot more than that, but like I said, went overboard with having it built to Pro Spec. Im doing a lot stuff thats not needed for the Rally class but wanted to be set up for Pro or be able to sell it ready for Pro.

What are you going to do with the clutch?

I think the clutch and turbo have to remain stock, still have to verify that. I know I can flash the stock ECU but cannot replace it with aftermarket. The intent of the class is to run a fairly stock car less the safety stuff thats mandatory. I could have left the stock tank, but going with the 24 gallon I can run an entire lap at The Mint and only get fuel (1) time at Main Pit. Some of the other races I won't need to pit for fuel at all.

Hahahaha. I just dropped it off at Magnum a week ago, no other pics of the car except it being stock on the trailer. I will update the build thread I started in the offroad section once they get going on it.

i got my transaxle engineering diff rebuilt with new billet side covers, put some new extreme dominator 38 paddles on it, and added a fill can breather setup from winters performance to help control the breathing for the diff and maintain oil level, ordered some bolt on scoops to cover the hole in the side panels for my oil coolers. the car made it to the flagpole ceremony for vets, but there was a "noise" that i was not comfortable with that sounded like cv's binding and releasing making the axle slam the cups on the diff. i need to try clocking the cv's and make sure my axles are long enough, also my shocks need rebuilt and the noise im hearing/feeling in the car could be the pistons in the reservoirs slamming back and forth since the nitrogen in the shocks is likely gone.

I bought those. Unfortunately the way my console was built couldn’t use them. Eventually I will redo the whole dash and console but $$is tight and the season is here so it’s staying as it is this year.
Either side of the cupholder or sides of the box. Idk no room to talk I’ve had my car 12 years, and had the billet mounts for 3-4 years and just finally got around to doing mine lol

I have the dual flush mounts in my RZR, they are very nice. I have them in the picture in post #1.

Yea yours was no $10K plus the car build obviously. I could see myself in a rally UTV or Sportsman UTV or something like that... I'd probably just buy a car already prepped.

So far I’ve added
ECU flash from EVO
Clutch kit with new helix
Fresh air pumper for helmets
Lowering seat bases
And a whip mount for a taller whip for Glamis where they are required.

I plan to pick up a rear seat storage system. And possibly a new voltage regulator as well View attachment 816263 View attachment 816264 View attachment 816265 View attachment 816266 View attachment 816267
thats nice you raised your flag to be legal (8' from the ground at glamis) but technically you are still not legally complaint with that enormous flag. believe it or not you MUST have a red/orange (forget the dimensions but its like 12") flag to be 100% legal. yes i have seen people get hassled for something so ridiculous.....usually holiday weekend over zealous type of stuff...but still.............

We're looking at the 4 seat X3 RR and other than lower door panels, storage box and lighting, it'll remain stock.
May flash the ECU after we hear from others how it went.
EVO offers the different stages and now with most you don't need to buy nor install anything else on the 2020 X3rs at last reading of their website descriptions.
But, make sure before dropping $.

So probably stage 2 EVO plug and play.

EVO flashed our 2 seat ECU and it's a freak of nature. A rocket ship.
EVO recalled that flash - we didn't send ours back. Those that did report EVO really dumbed it back down.

So, it's wait and see.
We like EVO, had good results over the years with different vehicles, but best to move slowly with them.

It might just be me and I do not know this product at all, BUT, if it were my car i'd jack the back up and see if the two bottom arms can be swapped.

It looks to me like the logo'ed arm should be in the middle based on the look of those bends.

But it could all be KattiWoompus from the camera pic??? or have diff heims?? ...

VERY nice car BTW

With the high clearance triple radius rods, it is an interesting geometry puzzle getting it all to work and it bind

As for me I broke down and bought a new MPI steering wheel on a Black Friday sale and will be relocating my PTT button to the wheel. More pics when I install it.
