You should ask Keith about me driving Firewater...

Him skiing behind it...

Ask him what he would do as we passed Sundance, on pretty much any given weekend.

;)

Most likely something that he would be arrested for today. ;)

Here's our first V-Drive...a Glen L with a 390 Caddy engine in it.
Picture was taken in 1968...Me (standing) with my brothers and Dad driving.
During those years until 1971, we stayed at Big Bend(didn't everybody!) grandparents kept a trailer there and then moved to Castle Rock where
we went from then until 2008 when I got a place in Marina Manor.

Before you read below, try and figure out where on the River this picture was taken...

So like I said, we used to stay at Big Bend but there never was a great Beach there.
On this particular day, we daycamped across the River at where Buckskin is now.
It was not built out at that time, nice beach no cabanas. I think the Museum went in like a year later.
Across the river would one day be where the upriver portion of Echo would be built.
How times have changed!

Nick was the one I remember going up and down the river drumming up biz on the pontoon. Here he is holding the 'peter meter' for the wet t-shirt contest.

The other pic...I just like it.

My friends tell me that back in the early 80's I was talked into the macho man contest. I have no memory of it though, must have been the 2 for one ice tea's.

If I was in it, I lost.

I really miss those Big Hair days, girls would really put on a effort before going out on the boat. Now it's mostly a ball cap and no make up.

Just remembered something about Sundance, the old wood Sundance. I've mentioned it before but in the 70's it could be a rough crowd, lotta bikers, lotta fights. One summer out by the street entrance they put up a little booth, like a carnival booth, and there were a few girls working in it and you'd check your weapon with them and they'd give you a tag with the corresponding number to the hook your knife/gun/brass knuckles/club was hanging on.

My old girlfriend did NOT want to go inside after seeing that.

This thread is Killin me....
Ya I remember the Indian police ( I think) closing Sundance cause some bikers were going to come back and get even. Getting herded out thinking I would not want to mess with them. And I was a pretty big guy.
One time a guy got 86ed and found his way back to the roof and fell through the sheet metal on the dance floor. Crawled away then started dancing and they never found him.

Nice to see kids in the mini Schiada’s, the proportion’s are right.

Looks silly when adults stuff themselves in one.
