I think what would happen is that supporters would come out and demonstrate (probably the capital/whitehouse or some other government building). The demonstrators would be mix of those who don’t care about their 9-5 all the way to millionaires who’ve just had enough.

It would be a powder keg that explodes and probably would involve citizens getting killed.

At that point it’s the shot heard all over the USA. Then those on the fence head to “ground zero”. The media will create a narrative on both sides. Martial law is enacted, but I don’t know who shows up. LEO and military members took an oath to uphold the constitution. Who knows what their interpretation will be.

Those of us at home will hit Costco, Turners, Home Depot and get ready. Wagons will be circled and those that can afford to get away for a while will.

Exactly my point. It makes OUR world better. But it doesn't change anything.
As was said earlier, we aren’t suffering enough yet for a civil war. Maybe we never will…but that does not happen automatically. Never has, never will. It takes effort beyond our comfort zones.
Some take this as big talk. It isn’t. I’m just another old fat guy who observes that many young people today are unaware of why they have these opportunities to work, build wealth, raise families, buy houses and boats etc.

Hypothetically speaking, civil war, like the North Vs the South is unlikely. More likely what we might see is more like the "Troubles". Decades of covert operations by citizens who keep normal daily lives and execute strategic assassinations, bombings and targeted mass casualty events against specific demographics under cloak of darkness. Truly Domestic terrorism, not the stuff we call domestic terrorism today.

I would not rule out this being a high potential in our current situation. I will not be surprised by a counter assassination attempt on a key left leaning politician. I would be super nervous right now if I was a popular democratic politician.

Posse comitatus act would prevent the military from being used as a police force. (Though they can probably advise LEO, just not actively participate).

However it’s murky if they got used as a homeland defense role instead. And it’s murky if Congress would be able to over rule the PC Act.

3) Colonize/Imperialize, move in your own people and outbreed them and outcompete them for the local resources (the longest)

If you are unable to win with method 1, then you have to have the stomach and or the time for 2 or 3.
