I was in the Army before Clinton and after he was elected. I didn’t re-up due to how bad it became with Clinton in office. It was like a light switch it was so quick…

I'm more or less a hermit. I'm lucky, in the people I do cross paths with tend to be more "right" leaning. Honestly though, I rarely tend to speak of politics with them.

The outcome of the election is on my mind, for many reasons. Some only worry of the economy. Some only worry of the illegals, or crime. For the most part, I only worry currently about the reaction of the people to the actual election. The sad truth is many on both sides are spewing hate, and one sides leader is spewing lies.

This week, I'm supposed to go to Tucson. The response to the election may change that, as Tucson is a different kind of area, and the other side of a major metropolitan area.

My immediate worry isn't who wins, but how we the people respond. The long term worries incurred include sourcing backup supplies for meds here, but ran short on time to get them beforehand. We live far enough out to avoid any immediate fuckery, but the long term events are definitely questionable.
I‘m just south of Tucson, but I get up there at least once a week. While it may look red, the elections usually go blue. Go figure. In my town there is an ongoing Trump Rally at one intersection that has had daily attendance for 9 years running. A few months ago, a Tucson news channel did a show about it. Now theres a group we call the garbage eaters that show up (dems) some from Tucson. The cops are called by the garbage eaters every week where they complain, unsuccessfully about having their pictures taken, or the Trump supporters looking at them unfriendly like. LOL. Enjoy your trip down here, I wish I was going to be around, but the Caribbean breeze is calling for me. I hope to return to a MAGA victory when I get back. But if SHTF, I’ll extend my stay.

THIS is why a chunk of society is doing well.

to the detriment of future generations.

Without guberment fiat spending, very few would be doing well. It’s a f’ing ponzi scheme.

Bunch of damn crooks!
And it doesnt matter who is in office a donkey or a elephant. The printer will never turn off.

Musk estimates he might be able to cut $2T from the budget, Trump has spoken about a Bitcoin Strategic Reserve, etc.
That would be a 25% cut in spending. That’s very difficult without major cuts to social security, Medicare, tax deductions everyone participates in and defense spending.

I’m all for it, but the voting public wants spending cut on the other guy, not them.

From the congressional budget office:

“Medicare, Social Security, defense and veterans, transfers to states, interest on the debt, and aid to individuals such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and refundable tax credits accounted for 90% of spending”

My prediction is if Trump wins he will not see the Oval Office in January. The train has left the station and the destination to New World Order is the final destination. The train can't and won't be stopped and the machine will not allow a Trump presidency to take over for another four years. No matter who wins next week, the civil unrest will begin. The free food, shelter, healthcare etc. for the 20 million illegals that crossed out border will come to an abrupt stop and they will come looking for your pantry. Shit is going to hit the fan in this country and perhaps around the world. I hope I'm wrong and eat crow over this post, but I don't see another way. Get your house in order this weekend, because the clock is ticking.
That’s grim. But I’m hedging bets by sighting in a new nightforce 1-8 tomorrow & making a Costco run on Monday.

I pray you’re wrong.

I hope trump wins but not counting on it. I remeber back when obama won and the right said the same. Rush and all the far right talk shows that I listen to said the same. So far nothing has really changed.

I hope Trump for the win. For the next two years, just get shit done! Last two years, push Vance out into the public eye on everything good, especially anything that would please the democrats. Why? VANCE FOR next 4 years, and hopefully 8 years. IF things are done right.... oh darn, I just woke up from a dream, I think.

Prepare for the entire nation to be californicated if this left wing loon gets in and the way the odds have moved recently I don’t feel good about trumps chances anymore.
Why isn't that right there a major theme on election commercials? Trump should be running ads stating “Do you want to live in CA with all the highest costs of the nation? If not, don't vote for the bitch. “

CA is one of the most screwed-up states. Imagine the other 49 getting a taste of that.

Or maybe the other 49 are hoping for that so CA stops moving in to their states? 🤷‍♂️

The doom and gloom that Rush and others predicted was not immediate, like they seemed to believe. As for "so far nothing has really changed." I beg to differ. We've watched our military strength on display be emasculated, and our strong dollar be eroded. Obama was not the Messiah, just a minion. He was just another tool in which to move forward an agenda. That agenda seems to be to dismantle what the United States still is, a beacon for the rest of the world to aspire to. We now watch as our own police state crushes dissent just as the Russian and Chinese have. It's not only our country, it is happening globally. The UK, Australia and others have moved in unison. Things have surely changed, when one steps back and looks at it.

I just have a pitchfork and a torch...so they'll probably start with the rest of ya'll;)
My daughter brought us a gift a few weeks ago. It was a republication of the Anarchist Cook Book, except this was actually a cook book. Yes the Anarchists Cook Book went woke. It literally became a cook book on how to feed large gatherings of peaceful protestors. Your Pitchfork and Torch should be re imagined into something that serves the community, perhaps sowing a field and making a warming fire for those who are dwell outdoors. LOL

We plan to use our new improved Anarchists Cookbook to serve humanity.

TM 31-210, and the "cookbook" were things in my "book club" with the youth club. From there, 1st aid, and anatomy books, mostly pilfered from used book sellers and garage sales. Same went for turn of the century tradesman instructional literature, sheet metal and rough carpentry were particularly interesting, because power tools were still rare.

Pitchforks, torches...whatever the item may be, is nothing more than a tool, a problem solving device even. I'd never take up arms with an intent to do harm. Not anymore at least. I would, however, do so to stop harm from coming to my friends and family.

The election really has little bearing on my day to day. At the end of the day, I am essentially a blacksmith of the modern era. I fix broken items, and in turn make the funds needed to buy necessities for my family. It's really quite a simple "business plan". Of course, there are added complexities, but that is really the gist of it.

If Harris wins I’m going to buy a 1970 XR7 Cougar and outfit it with Mustang II front suspension, a fully independent rear suspension set up, a few Eliminator styling elements and a Boss 351 with a Richmond 6 speed manual trans.
Might as well spend it before it devaluates.

WHO is Pulling The Strings? 🤔
Pretty sure it's not one, and way above my pay grade. In my mind, I picture more of the Star Wars, "Evil Empire" kind of creatures. People who only look at humanity as nothing more than a commodity to be controlled, traded and sold.
Personified evil, if you will. People who preach against the existence of a God, while simultaneously trying to attain God like power.

Sorry if the mods feel this needs to go to dungeon, it is not really a political post, but some may feel differently, participate if you are comfortable. I'm not really looking for a response, but more to make inmates stop and consider.

Last night the Wife and I attended a dinner party with about a dozen couples from the local community. They meet every Friday night for a dinner and cocktails social event. We've been invited many times and I normally say no. The Wife would like to socialize, I would rather stay home and be a hermit; she won the debate.

The couples are a mix of business owners, local politicians, or retired. All seem upper income, all seem about 10 years older or more than us. We knew only two couples from the Elks. All are pretty well connected and the women are equally if not more engaging in social topics and are well educated. One woman I spent time speaking with had owned a fairly large national IT company. These IMHO are successful, intelligent and rational people. The common denominator was that they are all unashamed and vocal Conservatives. That sets the stage for the topics of conversation. Current events, locally, nationally and globally. Keep in mind we are in a region where there are not many Liberals.

It was what I imagine a dinner party should be. Gin and tonics, wine, and bourbon, neat. Except the guy who was a Rancher and came to Montana in 1969, he drank PBR.

The first 20 minutes was an interrogation to see if we were worthy of the conversation, we held our own and quickly found acceptance as we have experience speaking Conservative Boomer.

The topic I thought worth your consideration was "What if Harris Wins?"
The response swung from the cleaning of firearms to the movement of money. I really don't think people who have been hunting for 40+ years need to worry much in Rural America about a zombie apocalypse, but there was certainly some ego stroking concerning collections of various weaponry, stockpiles of consumables and the skill of operation had by the male portion of the group. I'm certain some of ladies outperform the men.

I truly hope we are not burdened by what has been, but it is a topic we as a couple have given much thought. To be honest, I'm not entirely comfortable sharing anything from those conversation on a public forum, even with an alias, but it is worth sharing and safe to say, that those couples also had given it much thought.

The thing that struck me, was this is a questions others had considered in detail, not just a passing "we are fucked" but a genuine strategic consideration for personal finance, outward cultural perception, travel and personal preparation for supply chain disruption. It was also generally agreed upon that smart democrats likely also are having the same conversations about "What if Trump?"

I found it equally as interesting that when you strip away the amplified voices, that quietly people are making decisions based on the political winds. No matter if they are favorable, or unpleasant. It was also generally agreed that next week is going to be a shit show and that we should all be prepared for a wild ride. Like many I feel this may be the most important election of our lifetime. The die has been cast for us, we voted two weeks ago. We've never been so consumed with an election and we yearn for a return to normal. The problem, based on last night's conversations is that the election sadly won't settle the divide in our country. It will likely accelerate outward hostility.

With any luck, paranoia will not become preparation and this all settles back into the oblivious comfort of easy money, convenience and good times.

But have you considered; What if Harris?
The globe will burn...

Look no farther than the top leadership in the house and Senate and follow the money train that keeps them there.

This is why Trump is such a danger to them. He has his own money, but unfortunately has to play the political game.

Two sides of the same coin that have to keep the masses divided and bickering amongst themselves so they can keep control of the purse strings.

It’s a shame it is the way it is.

I have noticed Trumps latest round of commercials have definitely changed to something better. Just should have been playing them for the past two/three months instead of just the past week or two.

I think this is a complete mistake.. I’d wager they print money like it’s going out of style driving inflation even harder.. if that happens then tangible assets are the only thing that’s gonna matter.

RD
The problem is the Dollar will collapse if a continuation of dumping $3-$4 trillion every year of printed money into the economy goes on much longer. Then every asset is worthless! The Saudi's, Chinese, and Russia have already moved over to the BRICS currency. j/s

I would suggest that if the dollar collapses relative to other currencies, you would rather have a physical asset than dollar denominated securities. Further, if 25% tariffs are placed on all imported goods and services as promised, you would much rather have a physical asset such as real estate than dollar backed securities as inflation will be enormous reflecting the 25% tax increase on goods and services.

Secondly, relative to other currencies, the dollar is now stronger relative to 4 years ago, and even 8 years ago or 12 years ago. The dollar has been strengthening relative to other currencies since March, 2008.

Stop worrying about who is President. They aren't kings (or queens).

Worry about who is in Congress and fix that if you don't like it.

Far more is done (or not) at the Congressional level than will ever be done by a president, and that is by design.

If the R could own the house and Senate the Prez would be the least of your concerns.
I don't know about that...in Trumps 1st term they had house and Senate and could not agree on shit to the point they lost control in the second half of his term. I am conservative but I dispise them stepping on their d!cks, letting their in fighting get in the way and not getting shit done when they could have got stuff done.

I don’t see much of anything changing regardless of who wins. We may see a little flair up of civil unrest by a small faction on the far fringes of which ever side looses, but it will be short lived as that’s a lot of work to put in day in and day out. The world is just as crazy of a place as it’s ever been, no more, no less.
I am sad to say, pessimistically that I'm pretty sure everything changes tomorrow. No matter which way the election goes, half the country is going to be insanely pissed off. If Harris, for us life will drastically change. We'll start executing a loosely developed plan as a result. If Trump, life will also change, we'll become less anxious and use the next four years to continue enjoying ourselves and making money.

The results of tomorrow election will drastically alter the path we walk the next four years. We've already lost friends, we have already damaged family relationships. I don't appreciate hearing my wife called a Nazi by my cousin when her grandmother fled from the Nazi's. Those are changes as a result of this election cycle. Good for you nothing changes. For me everything changes, either way.

It won't be poor sportsmanship, it will be survival, if this goes bad.

If nothing else, the question of how brother tuned against brother during the American Civil War has been answered.
