Went by cheetah a couple weeks ago, their back bay door was open, and had a guy (can’t remember his name) in there with a customer finishing up his boat. Still 3 or 4 boats in there in at various stages of completion. Obviously the employee I was talking to said cheetah was still open and they were doing fine. Has there been anymore info on them filing for bankruptcy? Really liked how they turned things around and the new decks they were putting out.

That has to be Greg he was one of the owners of Cheetah and really had nothing to do with the rest of the stuff. Kind got left holding the bag. Super nice guy and I’m sure he is doing everything he can to make things right. That said with that much $$ missing I’m not sure how you’d do that.

Nope that one is still coming but people are keeping it under wraps.. I think a lot of people are embarrassed that they gave the person money..

Listen man I’m drinking champagne on a beer budget over here. I boat with some big dogs that are nice enough to associate and park with a little guy like me. Word gets around. 😂😂

Shit you don’t know hungry till you eat ice for breakfast lunch and dinner through winter to afford some boat fuel 😂😂
I have seen your program. You are way past the “Junior Baller” program limits. You are right up there in the ”Associate Baller” level. But certainly not in the “Big Ball” or “Harry BoLz” realm. 🤪🤪🤪

I don’t know about a 35 I know he had a 31 that sold last year.
Yeah I have not seen that one. I did see his old 31. The 43 is for sale with a tilt and he has a regular extreme trailer for sale.

Yessir with the tilt trailer
Holy shit. I’m assuming that boat was 1.5 mil to build a few years back etc. that’s a big drop but also it’s gonna take a special buyer for that one. I think it’s due for refresh on both motors at 300 hours

Fire sale. Thus, the intrigue as to the situation that would induce such. But everyone's lips seem to he sealed as of now. I shall wait the 2 weeks.

Sounds like he prob took money from investors for property’s spent it on toys and couldn’t deliver anymore once the economy slightly slowed in April. I could have swore I read a comment somewhere Dave posted that this someone didn’t pay his sponsorship for supercat? I could be completely wrong on that so don’t quote me.

If you dig deeper on IG you will see that it looks like they were involved in multiple flip/development projects together.

If it ends up being true, then my intuition was right when I saw the slew of matching toys bought, parties at The Heat, etc. I don't know why, but I always thought something was off.

I think it is so wild how it is always the same story with these guys. Investors turn over their hard earned money and instead of actually doing what they say they will with the money, they buy toys and live extravagant lifestyles on their investors money!!

I would love to understand what actually goes through their heads when doing something like that. I find it fascinating.

Damn that’s wild I didn’t know they were in biz together. The red 37 doesn’t seem to be dripping the price. He may not be as deep as the m44

I always think to myself, and you are a boater so probably the same? I buy my dream boat for lets say $50k? Then I sell in a good market and buy a $150k boat? That's a huge jump and business must be good? Then I go from $150k to lets say $500k? Did business get that good and margins that much better to afford a gap jump that high between 2 boats for same exact same experience? Then you add matching semi truck and lets not forget the gay ass boat shirts their crews wear. I just don't get it. I am in the same business, these last few years have been the most challenging. Margins tight, customers pinching, money expensive. How are they so unique? I have followed both ther IG and literally thought, what am I doing so different and less successful? Then these threads pop up. All smoke and mirrors? Too confident in their abilities? Too good to fail? Did they get caught up in the Havasu curse? Keeping up with the Jones? Always seem to be the same story with a a twist. Keep up scaling until your broke, leverage up until broke! Just file BK and start over! These douche bags really live up to their names and in the end, did anyone really like them or just their cool shit? Sorry for rant but these types not only ruin it for real tradesman but also boaters and the city of Havasu!

I did a deep dive to try to find answers since it’s hush hush. From what I’ve heard “frankoo” is or was a great guy. I read online he donated a trailer to Mohave county sheriffs dept last year for the dive team. I think it’s the fact of just trying to have the biggest baddest shit in havasu when in reality there is always someone with something better it’s life. I hope that we are all just speculating and none of this ends up being true but it’s not looking good. As for now I’ll wait for the facts and the real story to come out before judging

I can appreciate and hope it's a false story. I don't want my loved Havasu name to get dragged through the mudd. I hope he is a great guy, really do. What I fear off your statement, is that he is a great guy for donating and sponsorships but that wast due to false money and ego. Donating and helping community is the top of the scale in my opinion. Doing it with risky funds makes it so inpure. I personally love the the big boys in havasu and support of the events. I love looking at the set ups and the drive it gives me to do better. I don't mean to sound like a dick in this thread and really hoping this is all a misunderstanding. Also to be clear
I have zero facts but their IG and this thread.

Agreed and hope it's a false story too, but if it didn't have any legs, I think RD would have shut that door in the very beginning.

Instead the speculation is opened up with the "well I wouldnt confirm that but wouldn't deny it either," comment when directly asked about a specific person and their possible involvement in some kind of theft/fraud.

I heard the guys that finished up a couple of Luxe toons were going to be getting a Cheetah to finish. From what I remember they said he had a hull and not much else.
Bummer to see this going down.
Don’t know any of the current staff over there but was hoping to see them turn things around.

Interesting series of events. I went back to reread it. Then @Gelcoater post above made me think there is a bare hull that has been at a house a few days at a time and gone then back. It is white, light blue and gray/silver. I have not been in town for a few weeks now but the house is on Daytona near Starfish. Don’t know if this is a bit of fall out with everything going on. 🤷‍♂️

Just to piggy back off you. Dave said in that other thread where the dudes house was raided by the feds and toys hauled away. That that was nothing compared to what was about to drop.

So not only does it seem to have legs, it would seem rather large scale. 2 weeks! Stay tuned.

Also, off your other comment. I have had that conversation with Chris. I wonder how people like rusty get to that point. What's going through their mind to push the bound?

My family was so fiscally conservative when I was a kid I am unable to comprehend the baller lifestyle.

Until I was maybe 17 or 18 every time I saw a nice car, boat, 2nd home, ect I thought it was bought with cash. I thought a Morgage was only given on a first and primary home and a 20% down was mandatory and a loan was only given agains a paid off tangible piece of collateral.

It wasn't until my first job when I saw the owner spending a jobs "Profit" as soon as a deposit was received and then borrowing money to buy material. I lasted 6 months max.

The way I was raised is so much easier and it is absolutely fine I will never be a baller. I will never root against people but I will also never feel sorry for them or be shocked when it blows up in their face.

I think most of them are eternal optimist, with poor management skills. They always think they can make it work and never know when to stop digging. My naïve self would like to think that they didn’t all start out as Shysters and Con men.

WOW! This thread has really grown some legs.

I wondered about the DLA boat being listed and figured dude was building another since the prop went through the side of the 44. Guess I was off a bit on my assumption. LOL!
