Sorry, I need to vent, today I went with my son to buy back my old boat. When we got their, it was heartbreaking, this f#?!ing red neck did not take care of my boat. The paint was faded, the whole inside was fucked up, the seats where rotted, the upholstry was fucked up and towrn, seats falling apart. Their where stress cracks everywhere, a piece of fiberglass missing, the crusader emblems gone, it had a bad leak, and I mean bad, trim waas backwards, as well as the bilge pump, the engine seamed slower, like it needed a new top end on each cylender. The skag was shaved short. They cut into the deck for a raido that is now broken. The trailer was fucked, needs paint, and rims and tires. I can honeslty say it was heart breaking, I took so much pride in that boat and to see it in that bad of shape. It was mabay worth a thousand, mabay. I offerd him a grand, but he said no. Its gona take about three to make it new. My son has 3 grand to his name. He was devistated. I know how much he wanted the boat. What the hell ever happend to pride in ownership? Ít makes me sick to see ppl let their boats go to shit. I have never been so dispointed in my life. Its just heartbreaking :(

Its heartbreaking because you know what it once was, any other boat you might look at in this condition you will consider a project.
Otherwise, I totally agree with you;)

Bummer deal P. Take any photos?

What was he willing to take? It would be a great project for C if he were so inclined. He does have other toys to play with in the mean time. Honestly, it might mean that much more to him in the end. Never know, he may call back. If he let the boat go that bad, he probably let other things in his life go to shit as well, including his finances, so he may need the $$$.

See ya at the river.

ROC, I know it would mean a lot to him if we made it into a project. But the boat is not structurally sound. Its really not worth it. I hate to say it but its gona end up draining his money,
We will loook for another boat that is simmillar.
Anyone know of any wackers for sale ? :)

If you drive around Parker on the AZ side all the way to the dam, through the neighborhoods, you'll see all kinds of wackers rotting away on trailers stuffed in nooks and crannies, covered with a Harbor freight $4.99 covers.

Also in the Echo, Benders, Rio, Rivera and Emerald cove storages, all kinds of sad dealios going to waste.

It would be a threadworthy adventure you seeking one out, and bringing it back to life.

If you contact to owner, try to get his wife involved to put additional pressure to give it up.

as sad as it is ... some people just dont care.

the first home i bought needed a little bit of help, but it was still nice. i took care of it, painted it, installed sprinklers and sod ... just completely cleaned it up. not being biased, but it was easily the best looking house on the block. dont get me wrong, there were some nice homes, but they could've used some help as well. it pissed me off knowing that right around the corner, were some homes that could be REALLY nice if they were just taken care of.

mow the damn lawn, prune the damn bushes, clean the shit out of the garage and driveway. take pride of your belongings

the other day i went by my old house because i was in the area. all i can say is that i drove away shaking my head. i was bummed to see what all my hardwork had ended up looking like.

This is the killer…. The guy traded the old engine in as a core on an AutoZone long block. After I cleared the beer out on my nose, the guy asked if I might know how to get it to run better with that huge carb on it…Riverman

Holy Shit!!

I used to see that stuff when I worked at different machine shops.
Guys had NO IDEA what they had.
I would tell them, some wouldn't.
Some of the customers wanted stock parts, oh well.

Wanna know what the worst part was? This guy who ownes the boat stright lied to me the whole time. He said oh I put a new power head in the engine ( but really it ran like shit, and all he did was fuck the skag up and put a new prop on) then he told me he put hydro steering on it. ( It still had the singel colem cable that was tightwr than shit. Then he says oh I forgot to bring my grease gun. So I said " I dident know you needed grease with hydro?") He also said he fixed the lean and refibered the botton. Mother fuckin boat was in the water for 5 min and it had at least a gallon of water in it) he told me the upholstry was in good condition, fuckin seats where ripprd falling apart, wood was rotted etc. He said he put new carpet in, it was really all torwn up with holes everywhere. And took the braket off for the ski pole. I wass pissed off because he made it seem like the boat was in bitchen condition, and I drove all the was from phoenix, to needels for an hour only to be dissipointed :/

riverman i feel your pain. Someone posted a craiglists add on here last week and it looks like it is my old jet boat for sale. Here are some before and after pics of what it looked like when I sold it and what it looks like now. One man's treasure is sometimes treated like junk by another man. It almost brought a tear to my eye.

I have wondered what happened to my old boat, but after reading this I am not sure I want to know anymore. I don't want to find out it is trashed better not to know.

You know, my son told me something today. he said "dad i wish we never would have found are boat, i would rather dream happy, than have a dream die" broke my heart.
