I filled up the boat Thursday and the first startup I didnt have all cylinders but once it warmed up it was great all weekend. Wondering if some of the fuel had a little water in it. Filled up at Mavericks in Bullhead on hwy 95. Rest of the weekend it was turnkey.

I do think my belt shrunk this last week though.

First issue - Dead batteries. I have 3 blue-top optimas and an onboard charger. But apparently it wasn't plugged in all year in storage . Not sure what drained the batteries, as i've never had that happen.

Put them on charge Friday evening, and went out to start it Saturday......

Second issue - Bad starter relay
Went to Bullhead, was able to cross-reference the volvo relay to something Autozone had. Came back and it was all fixed.

Boated all day Sunday and boat ran great. Disaster averted....barely!

Ended up at a beach house in Dillan's beach for the weekend. Did very little, was a real change for me and the family. We did drink a little though. I rarely get drunk, checked that box though. My buddy damm near got alcohol poisoning. every time I would turn around he was refilling our glasses......

So, other than my liver, nothing broken for once!

My daughter and her boyfriend got an apartment this weekend.

So we broke down and bought em all kinna goodies!

Everything from cleaning supplies, some cooking tools and a top of the line Bervelle Nespresso machine!

Broke my wallet a little, but the smile on their faces was worth it. 💓

Your "bad decision" will be the gift that just keeps giving tho!

Yep already under the dash unfucking 30 plus year old wiring. After the detailer comes I'm going to post a thread. Mechanically the boat is very very sound.

Dammit, that shit used to drive me nuts. Into the gelcoat, like a gouge? or will it color sand or buff out?

Mostly I lounged like a rock after an intoxicating week on the Yucatan.
Did golf Saturday barely 7hrs after arriving on US soil again....yeah, shitty Golfer confirmation although I didn't lose a single ball🤪

I broke in a freshened up motor. I hadnt cleaned the boat from sundays ride and decided to put it in the lake last night for a sunset cruise! Its still hooked to the truck and Im tempted to do it again tonight lol. I should probably clean it and park it back in the carport.

That used to happen to my 496 all the time, until I switched from AC Delco to NKG iridium plugs.

My bank account is broken from boating in May. We still have 4-5 trips planned too. Lots of time to get the boat right again.

Still don’t know what’s wrong with the boat, but I’m sure we are going to get a call soon about needing to replace the expensive all in one water/fuel pump.

Few extra bucks getting the boat back on the water. It sucked but it is a boat.

Worst thing this weekend was almost breaking our Pup. They went counter surfing as we were packing up Tuesday morning. Found my wife’s inhaler. Our GSP popped it and inhaled some. His heart rate went up a bit but no big deal. About 8pm his body freaked out. Guess it’s a potassium/electrolyte issue 😳. Hell of a long night getting him back to normal. He’s exhausted today but back to 95%.

Ouch.

Jeep still in Havasu. Making friends with the folks at the GNG shop. Hopefully I'll be able to tow (toad) it home in a week or so after it gets some fresh new parts.

Then found out the plastic mechanicals on the camper canopy are sun-rotted and next time I lower it I may not be able to raise it. And I think I burned up the water pump this morning.

Luckily my Superjet is mostly unscathed, but did get some new scratches. I can't even move it around the campsite without bumping into something!!

Ugh. I need a vacation from this weekend.

Fuel pump and raw water pump are two separate items that just bolt together. Hopefully it is just a fuel pump failure and you can just replace it and not have to buy the 800 raw water pump as well. I got my fingers crossed for you guys.

Two day story:

Saturday- I replaced the power steering valve in my 75 C3 because it was leaking which wasn't as easy as the YouTube guy made it look, it wasn't hard, parts just didn't come apart as easily as in his video . When I reinstalled the pressure line from the power steering pump to the new power steering valve when I connected the pressure line, it was a little too close to the exhaust, like touching too close, but of course I didn't notice.

I noticed after my son and I took it for a test drive, I'm getting ready to back into the driveway all the sudden huge plumes of smoke started coming out from under car! I thought I blew the motor!

At the same time the pressure line broke, I couldn't get the car in reverse, now I can't get into first gear, also there was no tension with my shifter anymore, its a 4 speed, the shifter was just flopping around, well shit!. So there I was in the middle of the street, huge amounts of smoke coming out from under the car and couldn't get it into gear. It was a site to see let me tell you. Finally got it into reverse and in the drive way.

After getting the car back into the garage and up in the air, I noticed what I did wrong , cool its only a $22 part. Figured fuck it, I'll deal with this tomorrow because I need a drink a this point!

Sunday- Looked on line and luckily O'Reillys had the pressure line for the power steering, cool! Pick that up and replace it. Nice!

Then on to the shifter issue, after doing some research and watching more YouTube video's I thought it might be something with the shift linkage or gears and it might be beyond my DIY skills. At that point feeling kind of down because I'm thinking this is gonna cost some $$, and the wife mocking me wasn't helping!

But I had already bought a upper and lower shift boot because the lower was broken and it didn't have an upper for some reason when I bought the car. So I figure I will put those on and call a shop on Tuesday.

Once I got the lower boot off, I started looking around to see if I can maybe figure out what is the issue with the shifter. Boom, there it is!! Turns out the bolt that connects the shifter assembly to the shifter mount bracket came unthreaded. Cool, I tell my wife stop mocking me and come help, she has little hands so she was able to hold the bolt in place while I tightened it. Fixed!! Nice!.

I then installed the upper shift boot, which was a pain the the ass as well. But all was good.

At that point I had a drink, relaxed and felt accomplished.

I was too broke to go anywhere, let alone put up with amateur weekend. So a pretty girl and I went for a spin in rubber boat. 13 bucks in gas, whatever in beer and munchies and I found out she is a really awesome kisser and doing it again Sunday. And little to no assholes to deal with

Mike and Greg are good guys, I lost a fuel pump in my roadmaster labor day weekend at 7 at night. Greg met me in the smiths parking lot and hung around till the toe truck showed up and we could drop the car off at the shop
