It's an F150I didn’t think that truck was going to get it up there .
What a steep driveway
I have about 16” on both sides when I do it right.I have a line of red tape in my garage…. It helps a lot. In this case.. I would have a line down the driveway… I would not do red tape… probably a dark gray color painted line on the driveway.
Generally when I’m out showing boaters property I skip these homes unless someone is looking to save a buck. I love when they do RV garages with these crazy driveways and don’t post pics of the driveway at all. Buyers show up ready to write a check because it seems like the deal of a century until they pull up. However, I have seen some pretty large boats in some that make you scratch your head thinking “how the hell did they get this in here?”If a realitor showed me that house I would have laughed and not gotten out of the car. Zero chance. I wouldn't even want to walk up that driveway.

this is why when I built the opossum property I put the garages all the way to the back and made the drive way 180 foot long, and also made it to where my wife could drive straight in and turn around back by the garages and not have to back out into the street..
I'm with you,... I drive around havasu and just shake my head,.. the lots are what they are and it's up to the developer to make the most of it... I spend a lot of time drawing on plot plans , and use to scale house cutouts and cars.... like when I did anita , theres a blind corner when you pull out of the drive way, so I made it horseshoe shaped to not have to back out in the street with cars racing around the street... that lot is one I would never do again, and now I have a new rule.... never buy a lot with with a double yellow line on the street... next... when I build in havasu I make the drive wayys long enough to pull the boat and truck out of the garage and park on the drive way...I make sure on my builds that when you walk in the front door you don't look into the bathroom.... one thing I always do is keep this in mind... never enough parking in havasu,.. and make it easy to get in and out of the garages...Fuck that nonsense.
I used to build houses in pismo heights,... yeah, the ol your lot starts here and ends at the bottom of the cliff.... to me, I like lots that you can create a compond of differant elevations.. 100 x 100 flat lots are for tract homes... I like lots that nobody wants, and that because they have no vision...Well listen to the rdp privileged on here. Lol. I ONLY build on flat lots,
I would even take my trash out on that driveway…..
sounds like that fat girl on Willy wonka.
Anyways. Truck and crew in video are lame.
But hey. At least they have a lake house.
Hopefully no pronouns were hurt. Just busting balls.
that and why do people always pick backing a trailer on the blind side????Why would you not come down the street from the other direction and simply back straight up the driveway?????
To be fair, it's a little more reasonable to have a fucked up driveway in the mountains.Same thing up here in arrowhead. The real estate lady calls them “view lots” and they come at a premium. 300 stairs up to yore front door, or parking deck 8’ off the street. Or, steep ass driveway that you can’t get the boat up, or yore car when it’s iced over.
I paint a line on the garage floor , soon as the tires roll to where I see the line I'm exact where I wanna be...Looks like mine, but I always come in from the opposite direction, after 14 years it's a rare occasion when I don't hit it the first time.
The thing I don't like is when it's only on two tires for a short time.
Edit: I forgot to mention, my wife always stands on the first expansion joint in the garage.
Let’s not forget….. it’s havasu. Lots are limited. Not everyone wants to buy, or can afford a flat lot ready to build. They are wayyy over priced for a flat ready to build. If you can’t back up a driveway, you don’t belong on a launch ramp… oh wait that’s right. Launch ramps have a slope. They should build marinas in a flatter area. Lol.
I can just use the expansion joint, the problem is, I can't see it until I level out.I paint a line on the garage floor , soon as the tires roll to where I see the line I'm exact where I wanna be...
I believe coming in straight would drag the drive while the wheels are still in the street. Why would you not come down the street from the other direction and simply back straight up the driveway?????
Is there anything worse or more annoying then people screaming when you're backing in a trailer? Instead of screaming to "STOP" why not give them a heads up that you're getting close a few feet out. My other favorite is when the person that is helping you tries to tell you which way to turn the wheel.
How long will that hitch last with that mush weight on it through the years? Would it ever break?

Totally agree ..... not the ideal situation but certainly wouldn't keep me out of the water! What to know how I know RDP is getting soft?
And some of you say you are ready to kill to survive in a SHTF scenario.
That whole thing is totally doable in 30 seconds with some more practice.

Anything is doable, the question is why.
