I agree as just around the town cruiser....it is just much cheaper to buy the new complete SE bikes vs trying to build one up. Think I got the Woodgrain OM Flyer for 300 bux brand new on Ebay...killer deal. When I built up the intense....I found myself searching for good/great used/new parts....carbon fiber cranks, SINS rims/sealed hubs, sinz brakes....think I had 700 in that 24" after I was complete.

Yea, and 700 for that bike with those parts is a smokin deal!!

I didn't realize there were so many bmxers here. Bikes sure have come a long way.

If anyone is interested I've got a diamondback cruiser 2001 model year as well as a OM Flyer 2005 or so. Both are really clean. I don't ride them since buying a new Redline race bike.

Yeah agree, show us some pictures.

But I think I'll go for a latest model for my little brother. But I'm not sure which brand to go for. He has recently passed his exams with good marks so thought to give him some good gift, he loves bikes :)

If youre patient you can find a good deal on craigslist. I found a redline flight 24" for $300 a few months ago.

i'm 6'5 and 205
my wife bought me a 24" for my 36th bday because i told her how i used to ride one...i couldn't find any laid back posts...bitchin bike...i didn't even spend the time to put on taller bars.

i rode the 29" big ripper and i didn't like it...the wheel base is so big it's really hard to bunny hop.
so i ended up with the 26'' om flyer...it is a little harder to bunny hop than the 24 but a lot more comfortable for me...i can sit and ride the beach.

Here is what I bought. 1999 Dyno with OG grips and tires still on it with a Profile neck and Gt Mohawks hubs and a bell seat, in really nice shape. I have rode it 3 times but with my bad back I think I am going to sell it and buy a 26. Frank

I picked up a 26" GT Performer that was on sale back in December... Went to buy my niece a $40 helmet as a Christmas gift and this found its way into the back of my truck. The cranks, pedals and brakes are a bit cheesy (to upgraded at a later date)... But it's still fun to ride

I know the feeling! I bought my kids stride bikes, and then went to get some gear. I was checking out the GT Performer and imagining I was 14 again, hittin' doubles and bunnyhopping curbs. Nowadays I'm 38, and shooting doubles while barhopping and tripping over curbs. LOL

After the last camping trip, I realized mom and I really did need bikes to go around the campsite with the kids. I wound up with the DK from Wally World and couldn't happier with it - for the price. I changed the bars and seat. It needs cranks and pedals, but the frame, forks and rims are solid. Disk brake isn't bad, needs adjustment. IN fact, I basically re-torqued every screw after I pulled it out of the box, but after that it feels and rides like a quality bike.

Check it out. I think someone earlier in the thread recommended the same thing. Truth is, DK got in bed with Huffy a few years ago, and that's why a few of these models are available so cheap. ;)
