From what I’ve seen with all the pill busts, most have been women drivers.
Maybe they’re trying to catch it before it gets into town.

After seeing this thread this morning, I leave my house and see an officer attaching what looks to be maybe a trail cam or something to a pole on Bermuda between McCulloch and El Dorado. Just went by to grab some pics....

Can’t believe I read through this thread……..

All I can say is that I am SO happy I moved to SoFlo. None of the bullshit listed in this thread, do I see. No saturation patrols. No DUI checkpoints. No real enforcement on the water either.

I drive my car like I stole it…….. I am a habitual speeder. Never been pulled over in Florida. Many many many drives at over 100mph.………. Just keeping up with the flow of traffic!

Thanks RD and this thread, for reminding me why I love living here! No bullshit!

Appliance sale this last weekend through I think the 28th.... Got a damn good deal on some stainless stuff for a flip. The Lowes in LHC is actually pretty good as far as service etc.

Still going on??

One sale ended yesterday, a different one is going through the 2nd. Always check Lowes.com while you are looking though as they sometimes do online only sales that they can match in store...wound up getting the dishwasher cheaper over it. Gerrit at the LHC store is pretty on point, and was great to deal with. I saved a little over a grand.

I clicked that link. Where does it say anything about a sale? I saw the Black Friday thing at the top is that what we are talking aboutv

Women drug runners have been a thing for a while. Find some broke bish that's decent looking and hangs out with the boys and have her take a roadtrip and make $20k in 2 days. Those with small brains and no better shot in life will take that deal all day long.

City buget shortfall discovered? :)
Many folks say this but it's not factual. The fines that a court collects are divided up a million ways. The city issuing the ticket doesn't get much. It isn't the type of revenue generator that makes a difference, it's a drop in the bucket.

The big sales start the 2nd. Everyone that sells appliances is on the same program. The manufacturers make sure no one goes off the reservation. 😉

It wasn’t but that’s the one to wait for… bought my lg washer dryer and peristalsis washer that way.

I'd comparison the HD/Lowes sale...the only real difference is gong to be Lowes stocks stuff...HD doesn't in the vast majority of stores..its outsourced. Also the Black Friday sale is all month..so its not a rush deal, but if you want something specific its best to get the deal done.

Soooo, are the people posting saying we don't want the police in Havasu enforcing the laws?

I actually support the cops in more ways than one. But even I gotta ask what’s the deal when you are passing six of them in a span of four miles..

To play devils advocate should we all open carry for a couple weeks just because we enjoy our rights?

Would ya like to goto a bar with 50 bouncers? Lol.

I’m just saying there’s a balance.. and it’s been pretty over the top last couple weeks. Like crazy number of them literally everywhere.

I was more asking what is going on that would require that kinda presence?

They've been patrolling that section of road to slow down the cars. People haul ass through there.

Paranoia is thinking and feeling like you are being threatened in some way, even if there is no evidence, or very little evidence, that you are. Paranoid thoughts can also be described as delusions. There are lots of different kinds of threat you might be scared and worried about.

I agree with RD. It's exactly like going to a bar with a ton of bouncers. You start to think there's some bad element there and get nervous, or you start to think maybe you're the bad element

Is that why we regularly see 100+mph Lambo wrecks down there?

I don't know if I would stop for that car...
Other than the red and blue lights it gives no indication of being a LEO.

I’d think it was some ass hole with after market lights. Why they didn’t just paint it black and white is stupid.

Yeah that is my point. We roll in highly recognizable vehicles for a reason. I would put my hazards on, slow down and call 911, but I wouldn't stop until I confirmed who he was via 911. Unless of course I knew all their enforcement vehicles were red Camaro's.🤷‍♂️

Generally Dave in my area the only time that happens if after we receive numerous complaints from the locals about traffic incidents. It can also occur in school zones usually at the beginning of the year to get people back in the habit of slowing down for the kids.

Is that area of the city prone to traffic accidents?

Case in point, recently at the local city council meetings we had several people complaining about people hauling ass through their neighborhood to get around the normal congestion on the main road during peak hours. Our Captain had enough of getting yelled at over traffic (we have a ton of more serious crime going on but they aren't complaining about that) so we brought in some extra's. It was that, or the city would have to install stop signs and speed bumps... Something has to give either way.

IMO. It’s the locals that drive faster then the speed limit. When towing the boat or just cruising up in the neighborhoods there are def a line of locals on your ass. And my boat has AZ plates before all the Cali this and Cali that bs. Lol. We drive the speed limit in all towns we are in. Vegas havasu etc. open highway little different.

Correct ^^^^^

An increase in types of patrols or other police activity is most commonly related to complaints from citizens on specific issues. Sometimes its people on the city council that relay these concerns to the Police Chief. The proverbial turd rolls downhill and next thing you know, you have cops trying to handle the situation.

Traffic and parking related issues are usually the number one complaint from the residents. Thank your neighbors. Other instances could be related to an uptick in car accidents or fatal car accidents.
