My brother used to live across the street from some Sunday afternoon, front yard, mariachi playing, partiers.
When you own a rotary powered Baja, sometimes you just need to take them mufflers off, and work on it in your driveway for about a half an hour.
I don’t care who you are, a few minutes of a Bridgeport rotary are going to send you into seizures.

Rotary motors are amazing...the power, rpm and noise generated by something so small is impressive 🤣

This is some funny sh??.

My old man neighbor died, but his oldest took over the house. Dude is a real piece. The called 911 on us approx. 1300 times over 2 years. Yea, I had to get a lawyer. Know this shit?? head is coaching the old lady a few houses down on how to not get along with her new neighbor. the New people own bicycle company, are somewhat Liberal. So that didn't go over with her to good. One of the other long time neighbors got in the middle over it today, kind of like a mediator. time will tell if cooler heads will prevail. Can't wait to move out of HB & CA.

BTW, wife & I are looking at a lot in the Foothills. Anyone have any insight on the vibe in the area? Are they cool with people working on their cars?

I’d never driven anything with two completely distinct power bands. Not even a 400 Suzuki.
4000 to 7500, then 9500 to 11,000.
It eventually ate itself. In an RX two it was crazy. In a Baja not so much for the dirt. Eventually got replaced with a milder motor.

During Covid the asshole church across the street set up in their parking lot and would fire up their shit music at 7:00 am on Sundays and then have that shit playing most of the day. Nothing $30k in home audio equipment and some Too Short couldn’t compete with when they would stop playing and asking for money for the “building fund”. Jesus loves you and he needs money 😂

When I moved to the house I'm in now, the neighbor was staring with much displeasure as we unloaded two quads and three atc's. I do think he wanted a Mexican for a neighbor. My buddies that were helping me noticed the eye fking and showed up early the next morning with breakfast Jack's and 6 real loud Harleys. The looks ceased that morning. 28 years back, they have since past.

I've lived in 4 different houses and was always the loudest neighbor on my block. I never had parties or live back yard entertainment, but dirt bikes, uncorked cars and boats and the window shaking blown alcohol boat on zoomies couldn't have been appreciated by all. I never made noise early or late aside from just coming and going in muscle cars.

I rode my kids on small dirt bikes through the neighborhood every day. Played metal in the garage (still do) and not once has anyone ever said anything negative to me.

For reference, I've been in the Upland/Rancho Cucamonga area all this time so right in the thick of libtard So Cal.

… I used to love it when before the Fourth of July fireworks would go nuts around here in North Hollywood… So what did I do? Took the baffles out of my Sanger runner bottom with an LS seven big block in it and the fireworks would stop. It stopped dead for probably a Quarter mile… then I would go to the local fireworks lady and get some real shit👍

Ask him what type of music he and his wife enjoy and what is their beverage of choice, then invite them to come over and hang out. Way easier then fighting everyday.

When the downturn hit in 2006-2008, we lost most of the homeowners in our neighborhood and gained renters. Neighbor (now renter) decided to get three fucking Pit Bulls and would let them outta the house at 5:30 AM. Then just let them bark for the next hour and a half. Asked him multiple times to fix it and he always said yeah, but never did. We ended up selling the house and moved to a much nicer location.

The vibe is great up in the Foothills. We moved up there in September of last year and we have met a ton of great people. Lots of Parker people and everyone loves there toys. We do have a few people with a stick up there ass but they are the minority

Thanks for the info, we were kinda worried, while driving around; not many people making noise, wrenching on their toys etc. Wife won't even consider Donkey Acres. Thats my kind of area.

I’ve realized that I’ve got no problems with my neighbors, and possibly I’m the asshole neighbor
Same with me! I know for a fact that I am the asshole that sometimes will have crap parked everywhere or blocking the street moving my toy hauler. On occasion I will pull it out far enough to get the RZR out. But anytime I am doing anything I do try to be as fast as possible to inconvenience anyone as little as possible. There might have been a couple of later than I should have boat start ups. But they were quick just to make sure it would fire off.

Had a church camp across the river that would blast music. They called the sheriff for the kids playing in the river naked. Kids were all under 10. I finally had enough and went down on the riverbank with a sound system and played Slayer on loop for 4 hours. No more church music or sermons on the loudspeakers in over 15 years now.

We are in the Garages with the AC cranked this time of year. Some people have some incredible bars / game rooms in the garage.

This is typical the cooler months.

My neighbor's shop is ~200' from my back patio. When I can't converse to someone, on my back patio, it's too loud. Happens mostly on Friday and Saturday nights, sometimes til 3am.

In my front yard is the wife's Taurus, with a panic button on the key. Did you know the panic alarm only sounds for two (2) minutes?
At 3am it seems like forever.
Magically the music gets turned down, hmmm.
I'm clumsy sometimes. I've accidentally hit the panic button at midnight or 5am. Happens randomly. Gotta make sure it still works.
Not to mention his pit bull mix in my yard often. I see a Jeep vs pit bull incident in the future.

I had a sheriff stop by one day…

I was cleaning the dual carbs on my sand rail VW 2276, it was popping and spluttering ….

some one called 911 about hearing gun shots

The Sheriff only asked if my car was popping, I said yes, it was, clogged carbs….. He was cool and left.

I kindly responded in email
1. " Go Fuck Yourself "
2. " Move"
3. "If you ever need someone to babysit your 11 year old daughter, give me a call"
The following week I had 6 buddies show up on their Harleys at 630am and we revved the shit out of them for about 5 minutes.
They moved out a couple months later
Ohhhh fuck, that's hilarious.

😁
