I was just curious, I have had a few neighbors and friends move there. Three of them were cops ? 🤔

During covid, things blew up out there, like here. Up north is just beautiful country, but the winters can be a bitch. Not much of a fan of the southern areas, but also never spent much time there.

Nothing! Idaho is closed...
It looks like this 11 1/2 months of the year. For those of you So Cal people, the white stuff is snow. It's what happens when it gets below 32*. :p

Nothing. It's closed.

Thanks for playing! 😁

This video must have been taken during the 2 weeks of "not Winter"

Like what MR said. Northern Idaho is beautiful. If I'm gonna be cold all winter I at least want to be up in the mountains and not on a tundra.

East side of Idaho that borders Wyoming & Montana is gorgeous!!! All the way up to the Canadian border.

Been up several times. The folks that live there are salt of the earth type. Give you the shirt off their back to help you out.

My son, now 30, was up there visiting his aunt and uncle in Murtaugh a month ago. Did the Idaho City 100, they limit entries to 350, start in rows of 3, he was in row 103, over 300 bikes in front of him starting every minute, check points along the way, after working his way up to row 62 and arriving at check point #1, they re-rack you in your original start position, so he had to do the same thing 3 times during the 100 mile journey. Some of the roughest he's ever raced in, and stunning terrain. Finished a very respectable 16th of 176 intermediate riders. Said he can't wait till next year. He also learned its your sign up order that places you in start rows, he'll be early next time.

The people I know that moved there are all former cops from SoCal. Definitely one of the destinations after retirement for conservatives that are sick of Ca.

My dad (retired cop) moved to Eagle about 6 years ago and it seems most of his cop friends are there now too. I like it there a lot. Very nice people, good politics, and it seems a lot of the SoCal hot Rod culture has gone there. Classic cars driving around everywhere, car shows every weekend during the summer. Boise area (treasure valley) winters are fairly mild compared to what McCall and coeur d'alene get.

There’s a great drag strip in Eagle named Firebird.

Idaho is a great place to live. I live in the Coeur D Alene area and yes it snows and gets cold in the winter, but summers are as good as it gets.
Yes we do have quite a few Cops that have retired here, we also are getting Fireman who retire here also. If you do not likes guns Idaho is not the place for you.
We love our guns here in Idaho.
I am a Realtor here and I did a search for anyone to see how much a Waterfront home costs. The search was for 3 bed or more and on the water all areas.
We have all sorts of lakes here some large and some small. https://www.flexmls.com/share/90dPI/Selected

I recently bought five acres in SandPoint. On my last trip up to the property, I wanted to get a temporary power pole set up. I had a working metered pole up in three days and $1800. I also had 35 ten wheel dump truck loads of dirt brought in and I rented some equipment to grade a pad for my shop. No permitting at all. My neighbor’s laughed when I asked where to get my permit’s. And yes three of my four neighbors are retired PD. My experience so far has been amazing. The beauty, the people, the sense of personal freedom. I can’t wait to call it home.

My kid lives there and it’s great, it’s like being back in America, flags, people are friendly, LEO’s are respected, no crazy humidity, 12 hour drive to Havasu.

Got into cda last night to see my wife's best friend. They're talking about showing us some lakes. I'll try and get pics. No boat though. In shop.
Bummer, but will survive.

My wife and I rented the one listed for 17 million for a week in 2019. it was before the additions. Sandpoint is awesome.

LHC in the winter and McCall ID in the summer works well for my sister and BIL. She said their heater in ID, set at 60, actually kicked on a couple of nights ago. Said it did get their attention.
LHC in Winter and Idaho or Montana in the Summer is the goal once I have retired in 3 years. My first choice was was LHC in Winter and Huntington Beach in Summer but the Marxist Policies in California have pretty much squashed those plans!

I’m guessing the Cold Winters in Idaho would be a driving factor when choosing South Carolina. It’s beautiful there!

The coldest I’ve ever been was deer hunting in the southeast in Dec/Jan.
A wet cold that you have a hard time shaking off.

Seriously...how crazy are the bugs in the evenings?

Can you sit outside and enjoy a drink without getting hammered?

We are so spoiled in SoCal but I would rather be somewhere else.
