I?ve only lived on the west coast but all of a sudden looks like there?s a chance we might be moving to New Hampshire probably two years or so.
Lot of fuck California with a touch of possible grand baby.
Wifey already decorating. [emoji51]

Wife pretty much said if our kid marries his GF and impregnates her she?s going wether I do or not. [emoji16]

38 years in CA 14 in Havasu moving East to FL in next year going to enjoy my Golden Years.....

Right on, NH is a beautiful state.....half the people I know have 2nd homes there. Big beautiful lakes and some of the best sledding, skiing in NE.

The only issue with the politics is the stupid liberal cunts from Mass sticking their nose in things, the license plates still say live free or die.

Portsmouth on the weekends is as fun as any beachside pub crawl you can find.

I'm from NH. NH state motto is "Live Free Or Die"!

There is no state income tax. There is no sales tax. There are no seatbelt laws. There are no helmet laws. You can carry your shotgun, ruffle and fishing pole in the gun rack in your pickup truck and no one will freak out. :thumbsup

I'm from Keene area in the south western side (Spofford, Westmoreland, Swanzey) which is a bit more rural than Bedford (bedfud:) ). That area is a lot more upscale with a lot of influence from the Massholes from the communistwealth of Taxachusetts. Yeah, we hate them fucking Flatlanders (Poncho is an exception though!).

It is a beautiful state with lots of outdoor activities. Mountains, woods, lakes, ocean, 4 wheeling, dirt biking, hiking, boating, skiing, sledding (snowmobiles, not toboggans) etc. Big motorcycle state with Laconia one of the oldest bike events in the country. They also run a NASCAR race there along with a lot of other stuff. Oh, and of course, covered bridges. Lots of history too. You could spend years driving around seeing the sites.

People can be a bit standoffish to newcommers. Again, Bedford won't be as bad because there are a lot of new people in that area. Regardless, don't try to change the state to CA and you'll be fine. :thumbsup

Traditionally a very conservative place although as Poncho said, fucking liberal flatlanders are changing things. Get out of the city areas which are Manchester, Nashua and Concord (Don't say "Con Cord", say "Concud"!) and you'll find a much different vibe. It's always been a "Leave me the fuck alone and I won't bother you either" kind of place.

Here are some typical scenes. The house I built back in the early 80's on ten acres. I had $40K into it and sold it for $80K thinking I was the shit. Then I moved to CA and my profit was a down payment on a house there. :eek:(

Now the bad stuff:

The weather sucks. Hot and humid summers with lots of rain, especially if you have a big weekend planned. What follows two days of hard rain in NH? Monday! Take a shower and a couple minutes later you are soaked with sweat.

Bugs! Flying, crawling, biting bugs.

Long hard winters where the sun doesn't come out for days. Gloomy and cold.

Not a lot of employment opportunities, low pay.

Lack of services. You won't have the stores and access to stuff like you do in CA.

Boring place for kids. Drinking / drugs and driving is the state pass time for young people. Might be better now with technology but in the 70's and early 80's we did a lot of cruising around while drinking.

Our family move from Connecticut to California was decided by a simple bet. If the baby of the family is a girl they stay in Connecticut. If the baby of the family is a boy they move to California. My mom delivered a girl and dad is celebrating in the hallway were staying in Connecticut. Ten minutes later I show up, sorry pops were moving to California. Three years later my dad made good on his bet and moved the family across the country...

Wife has been beating me up to move that way when I retire. She is from Charlotte and wants to move to NC. We were just at a rented house on Lake Wiley for her sisters wedding. Very nice spot. That lake did get me thinking. Lots of lakes in the Carolinas and you can be 5 minutes from the water all over the place at reasonable prices. But they do have several species of poisonous snakes plus lots of bugs and humidity.
