This is by my mailbox...nowhere near where bears should be. This one is lost or sick. It's roughly 15 miles from that attack last year.

A mile north, towards me, and no calls would be made, but someone would have a new rug. Right there, you're in a mix of young families and retirees in tract homes.

When we used to camp up at Camp Wood, we would hear stories of ranchers seeing bears out on the flat land down by Williamson Valley Rd.

Yes, later that same morning I believe. We've had another in a shopping center 6-7 months ago, maybe a mile south of this one. Just wandering around in the morning. Thinking this is the same one.

When I was a kid up at Lake Arrowhead, taking a date up to the landfill to watch the bears forage, was the land version of inviting a date on your boat to watch the nightly submarine races. The difference being, there actually were bears.

We just re-introduced Wolves to the state. Calves and cattle have been a smorgasbord so far.

Babies, children and froo-froo pets will be an all you can eat buffet with the yuppies glamping this year.
