Sorry to hearI was diagnosed with leukemia the end of April. The type I have is extremely rare with less than 1000 cases diagnosed yearly. The Doc says it isn't curable, but it is treatable. I need to get my boat back on the water for some hydro therapy.
I have only told a few friends and some of my family, those of you who are friends with me on facebook please keep it on the down low for now please
Cheers, Bilge
Left the Dr.'s office this afternoon and when I walked out there were three ducks and a squirrel waiting for me. Pretty cool View attachment 1377106

My Wife is a upbeat positive thinker loves life but the radiation in her throat took its toll NOTHING tasted right and , she lost her sense of sweet, sour, Umami (savory) so despite the fact were "foodies" getting her to maintain her whopping 110 weight was a struggle I finally went to the head shop for some THC gummies (helped alot) But tougher than that was the sadness and frustration that comes with the knowledge of what one is dealing with ...............Fuck Cancer.
The only real advice I have is to not get depressed at how the chemo effects you. I know easier said than done.
My first chemo (Glaavec) made it difficult to deal with the heat so I couldn't be outside. That depressed the shit outta me because boating.
They switched me to a couple different chemo's after that because my body got used to Gleevec and needed to switch it up. One of them (can't remember the name) was horrible for me. I told the doc "I'd rather die of Leukemia than take this shit anymore". The doctor listened to me, they switched me to Tasigna and it's been the easiest one and most effective for me. Everyone is different. Point is don't be shy if it ain't working for you.
Good luck bud!!
