My daughter applied to Northern Arizona University, Texas A&M and Baylor back in August. She has a 4.1GPA and was accepted to NAU in 4 days, due to her grades all we would have to cover is 8k a year.

We had a one on one in person meeting with an admittance councelor last week in Thousand Oaks for Baylor and the councelor made some changes to my daughters application.

My daughter got this email 45min ago while she is at church youth group and called us immediately.

Holy shit😳🥲 tears of happiness here, I couldn't be more proud of her.

About a year ago while at dinner with friends talking about her grades I looked at my wife and said "Who's her dad, because she's not mine" she quickly replied "I'm not sure she's mine either" 🤣🤣

Awesome job to your daughter!!! She must have an amazing mother. I‘d have to guess that you are not too bad yourself. 👍

My girlfriend’s daughter just got offered with Quinnipiac last weekend and will have signing day next week on a Softball scholarship.

It’s exciting as hell to go through the emotions, some ups and some downs.

Baylor is a great school, Ivy League, if memory is correct.

Lots to be proud of and you and Mom did a great job, congrats!

That's so cool! Will you guys go and tour the campus? Load up the family Truckster and take her in the fall?

(But, if she did end up at NAU, I'd be able to fix car stuff for you...up there at least once a week 🤣 )

I'm sure she will enjoy Baylor. I have two granddaughters there now (one is a senior in pre-med and will be returning to California to attend UCLA med school next year -- the other is a sophomore in pre-law and a member of the Baylor equestrian team on scholarship).

We went and toured Baylor, A&M and Texas State San Marcos in June.

We go back in February for a different scholarship that it's required for student and parent/parents be there. She also still has to submit 2 letters of recommendation and her resume (basically her volunteer work and school clubs that she started or was a part of) once the rest is submitted she could end up with more scholarships.

If she went to NAU then you were gonna be my guy. If she went to Texas State then Breck (shlbyntro) was gonna be my guy but Texas State was a no go as it was extremely liberal and my daughter is over living in that crap now. NAU was tied with A&M for her, Baylor was her number 1 pick. I've got no one in Waco, it will give me an excuse to go see her.

Great job!! It’s the best reward in life to see your kid flourish and you will cherish every moment even more when you get to see her. They go from your baby to a young adult quickly.

Huge congratulations to your daughter and to her parents - seeing that she may not be yours or your wife's kid! 😂

My wife and I have been through a similar situation with our daughter and it's freaking AWESOME. This is something that as parents you guys will always take great pride in!

Congratulations to your daughter and both your wife and you that’s a major achievement. Being I paid for both of mine the hard way.

Glad to hear they gave it to someone from the states since so many scholarships seem to be awarded to kids from other countries.

Hope she can get all the classes she needs while she is there.

Thanks for sharing and Y’all should be proud.

Congrats!

The good news is you’ll get about 9k a year at Baylor - the bad news is tuition is about 60k per year😊

A number of friends kids went there. They loved it.

Congratulations!! Baylor is an amazing school and way better than NAU for sure!!

Our daughter just started at UCI and is in the dorms with meal plan, healthcare...etc. We are paying about $4100 out of pocket with her scholarships and grants. It has definitely been an adjustment with her being away from home, but knowing she is so close is nice.

Congrats! Im a Baylor grad myself, I will say its a great school, has changed a lot over the last decade from when I went there. I will say my friends at Baylor got great jobs out of college with generally higher pay compared to some other friends who went to smaller schools. The connections are great. She'll make a lot of connections if she wants to stay in Texas.

One thing I overlooked as an 18 year old was where you go to school is where you make connections and where you get job offers, etc. Regardless, huge congrats, time to celebrate.

Thats awesome, if you have any questions feel free to reach out and I can answer to the best of my ability, I graduated 2015. Waco has a lot more to do now than it did when I was attending, but yeah, I loved my experience there and its a good resume booster for sure.
