Took my tank to the local welder supply place to exchange it today (argon/co2). The guy says to me "I can't take this, it's aluminum".... Huh?

Are aluminum tanks for inert gas a bad thing? I've had this tank for 10 years or more.. Actually I didn't even realize it was aluminum until the guy said something...

i think argon cylinders are steel, because of the much higher psi, like 2000+ psi.

never seen argon in a aluminum tank did you have a steel one and they exchanged it for the aluminum one at one time
when you exchange tanks you need to be on top of what there giving you back could be close to a junker tank then you will have a problem turning it back in for another one later happend to me one time they told me it was stolen tank i said BS you gave it to me
