The former USSR is very intriguing. I remember the Classic fall of what was considered a Superpower being split into several smaller, poor 3rd world countries was unexpected. The pics and stories of abandoned places like Chernobyl, space shuttle program, and all the now defunct elite tourist resorts tell a haunting story. Could this happen to us(US)?

Yea, some trippy shit out in Russia. Speaking of the space shuttle.... Sitting in this building out in Kazakh steppe Russia.....Just abandoned. Wouldn't be surprised if the factory quittin' bell rang at the end of the day on Dec 26th 1991 and everyone dropped their shit and walked out for the last time.

I do know where a lot of the stuff is located and the history behind them from researching the pics. But it takes so long to post locations and stories when I'm posting pics in the Kodak thread that I don't bother. Only have so much time LOL

There was a show called "Abandoned" that was on VICE that was pretty cool. Hosted by a Pro skater that use to go to all these abandoned places and end up finding spots and skating them. Malls, Slab City, old Detroit car manufacture buildings, schools. VICE for the most part has shit programming, but this show was pretty cool.
Best show on Vice by far....dug all the places he went and checked out.
