Got texts from friends yesterday of this wreck at the tickfaw run. Running 130 in a turn, boat hooked, pitched everyone out l, boat kept on truckin’. Everyone is ok. Boat, not so much.

Don’t actually know if the lanyards were on or not. At those speeds and narrow waterways of tickfaw, biat could’ve easily ran that far up even after engines shut off.

But it does give a good visual reminder of lanyard use either way.

It looks like it cleared quite a swath of trees on its way to the final resting place!

And all on board were OK exiting the boat at over 100 MPH??

It appears at least two of those trees were over 12" in diameter. They were snapped off a few feet above the ground, indicating the boat was still airborne some distance the shoreline.

Cutting down those trees as if they were toothpicks required a huge amount of kinetic energy. After being tossed out at 100 MPH, it's a bit of a miracle the occupants weren't seriously injured or killed.

This happened at my local lake back East….one person in the boat (big Donzi) driver got pitched, boat circled him for atleast 20 minutes killing the driver…boat eventually ran ashore 30’-40’ inland. 😎

Honestly if I was a passenger I’d seriously think about bailing out on water rather than riding with the boat through the trees. Yeah water isn’t fun but I think it’s better deceleration than tree braking.

ETA. I hope the occupants were wearing their life jackets. Doesn’t guarantee a happy outcome but better than not wearing them.

Shame about the boat but it can be repaired/ replaced. People can’t be so at least they are ok.

Hey, you scratched my Pine Tree.
The deceleration must have been intense. I would go get my Retinas checked.

340/390x, 37R etc in the $3800-$4500 range with 450's. 1350 power DCB's I was quoted close to $12K by my carrier.
That’s honestly a lot lower than I expected. Crazy the money it costs to maintain and Insure these things before they’re even used

Im with you. So this boat cost an owner roughly over 3 years 36-45k and now he can get a new one. Not bad lol.

And I’m only being humorous since no one got seriously hurt/killed.

I’ve said it before- I’ve passed up rides because of my evaluation of talent of owner. $ DOES NOT equal skill/judgement. I’ve restricted occupancy in my own because I wanted to let it eat, at my own risk. These will all kill you if you let them. 130 mph is no joke, I don’t care what name is on the hull.
