Having a remodel done of the Master Bedroom/Bathroom. The puppy is now 9months old and a PIA like they all are.

This is the day we brought her home in January. Sweet lovable Dane/shepard mix.

Anyways, she decides to chew off the wire caps on an outlet in the yard (wall of interior bathroom) and manages to zap herself. And good. Of course we have no idea thinking this 55lb dog just went out to pee, but a worker found her stuck to the wire and convulsing. First thing we hear is the guy yelling for help.

I get out there and the dog is “dead”. Tongue out, foaming and had crapped everywhere. Locked jaw and rigid body. This guy, Chris, was pumping her chest, blowing in her nose/mouth and yelling at her. Seeing how distraught he was and believing she was gone, I starting telling him it wasn’t his fault thinking it was time to call it. He didn’t listen and kept going and guess what, he brought her back. Slow breaths at first, then not, a few more compressions and breaths and she starts breathing again.

We get her to Vet and it was worrisome for a few hours, but she came home around 5pm. Today, outside of a burn on her lip, she is all good. Good appetite, energy and pee/poop like she should.

Can’t give enough shout outs to Chris who works for Johnson Manley and also Andy Lundsford who runs the show. Also, Dr Buckman at Havasu Animal Hospital. For all that they did, the bill was reasonable. Tomorrow is a recheck to follow up on the burns to her mouth.

Very thankful she is all good and thinking of changing her name from Athena to Sparky.

Last night with swollen lip. The swelling has gone down a lot since then.

Of course, one of the workers videoed part of it. Will give a warning as it may be bothersome to some. Chris worked his ass off to save her. It was a crazy day

A tragic event with an awesome turn around because the right person would not quit.

Glad for tostark and for "Chris." Puppies are tough.

Update: Follow up at Vet today. Will lose some skin around the gumline and probably one tooth, but has been cleared to go back on her normal diet.
Thats the price he had to pay to come back from the dead. I would consider that a win ;)

Per YouTube vids I watched today - The spot where you perform compressions depends on the size of the dog. Larger breeds on their side as they lay on their side. Others, on their chests, with the dog on their back. Worth checking out the vids. So far, I’m batting .500 with people. I would not have hesitated performing CPR on any of our dogs.

Crazy! Sure seems to have worked out ok. We have one that is 3 1/2 and still all puppy. Thankfully his favorite is paper towels. They go in and come out intact…

Update. Her skin around mouth and gums definitely have some dead tissue. The odor is horrible. After a recheck today, she goes under on Friday for debridement of the dead tissue and removal of a couple teeth.

Last Update. Surgery went well yesterday. Def some permanent scarring. They pulled two dead teeth and three more are “suspect”. She will be all good in time. Energy and appetite are normal. Think we may change her name to Smiley
