Is that the same guy?

Typical get rich douche schemes. People want to live a lifestyle they haven’t worked for in order to afford.

Yep.

One of the earlier articles just after his arrest quoted a detective saying that he didn't seem to understand the charges against him, that he couldn't spend money that wasn't his. LOL

Delusional.

I wear this thing 10x more than my real Omega though, it's so lightweight. My planet ocean rubs my wrist bone red after one night of wearing.. I think I will get a leather strap for that one

Nice, for your PO, I would look more at the factory rubber bracelet with the deployant clasp, that would be perfect and guaranteed comfort. That last thing before swapping out I would test is resizing it a bit and see if it no longer irritates your wrist.

My seamaster professional, I loved everything about it, but didn't enjoy wearing it. I finally took it in and had the bracelet resized (I couldn't get the loctite to give and get the screws out, they struggled as well). One link removed and it made all the difference, it became part of me. My most comfortable wearing watch of them all now.

Sharp watch, and good idea. I would probably like the rubber more anyway for a divers watch I think, and it's cheaper. The deployment clasp is like $500 or something though. I will try resizing it first at the local omega boutique thanks!

Yeah, leather on a diver to me makes me squint funny, like carpet in a shower. Panerai can get away with it with the vintage look, but I think it would be out of place on a modern PO. Plus not as durable. Try the resize, and go from there, enjoy.

Sorry not rubber, this is the exact watch I have and the strap I was planning. I thought it was leather for some reason due to the stitching lol but it's not it's rubber.

I wear my Seamaster more than 99% of the time, it’s such a great watch. Feels like a part of me. I’ve had it rebuilt twice now; at 5 year intervals. Never have to wind it but it loses about a minute every 60 days or so.

I’ve had this gold watch for close to 30 years now. Got it as a bonus at work. I added the PP band a few years back. I don’t wear it much but it’s interesting. Haven’t seen another like it. Anyone ever see one?

Close, but different dial/brand name. Appears to be the same watchmaker though.

Really similar but yes, different brand. Mine had a leather band on it when I got it as well. I changed it out for the 18k Patek Philippe band a few years back.

Brand looks like either ELMA or ELWA. Hard to tell. Just googled it and nothing however Corum has one. I wouldn‘t be suprized if they were all made by the same watchmaker as you note.

Hanging with some big boys this weekend. A little watch porno for you fellas.. View attachment 1385863
Some heavy hitters for sure, I would still take your meteorite for my wrist though. I respect the gem setting with the RNBO, and certainly a showcase piece, first time I have seen the new bezel on the GMT with the solid gold. All three gold's in one photo too, thats pretty cool.

Random trivia fact, the largest smelter of gold in Switzerland, is actually Rolex. Not so random in a watch thread, but if asked in general, most wouldn't know. I respect they do ALMOST everything in house with Rolex, smelting included.

I agree. The guys with the RM and the Rainbow both had Meteorite GMT's in their collections as well. The GMT punches way above its weight class for sure.

I wish I didn't love it as much as I do, but its my wheelhouse with the associated history. The Pan Am requisition, that era of the world, the jet set age, the engineering to track 3 times zones. Art, History, Fashion, Engineering. GMT Master II in pepsi livery has it all. Just like a Speedy does as well. Ticks all the boxes at a level well above its economic weight, even when in precious metal. Other watch brands and models can't buy a story like that.

Yeah, that's why watches can be so cool.

You Rolex guys.

What makes a GMT Pepsi 25k?
And a GMT II 45k?
Both have silver bands and no diamonds, anything else I should know what makes up the price on these?

I felt these were on the high, but we are on a cruise. I don’t know crap about watches, just the I like expensive ones. lol

As far as the GMT Pepsi, that price sounds like a steel variant coming from the gray market and not an AD.. That's a big markup.

A 45k GMT is probably a gold variant also coming from the gray market and not an AD. Very difficult to find GMT's Daytona's and Sub's from an AD unless you're a good customer that buys lots.

Frustrating situation.

The one thing I really liked was I’m able to walk into their place in Newport and actually try the watches on and see if I really like them in person versus buying online. Not sure where Chrono24 is located but Im willing to pay a bit more to try my new watch on in person.

I am really impressed when visiting Bob's. I will gladly pay more for the personal service.

Anyone looking for a fun watch $400? Long story short I bought it and didnt think about the band not being big enough and the company doesnt sell extra links, they will only sell a complete watch band. WTF?
I havent tried to find matching links locally, maybe you guys can point me in the right direction if no one would like to take it off my hands, or wrist to be more accurate.

AD happened to have a pre-owned Rolex white 39 OP there as well, so I was able to compare the two.

Love the Rolex in isolation (while my straps were being swapped), but side-by-side, I much prefer the Omega: sleeker case, fluted bezel, pie pan dial, much whiter dial, brushed batons and hands, more elegant font/typeface.
