Another little detailing trick for getting rust off chrome or chrome wheels- Take a square of aluminum foil, pour Coke on it and scrub lightly, the rust will dissipate and then follow up with a good chrome polish. I don't know you, but I like you.
I’ll attest to Shine Supply’s excellence….I took on the task of detailing my boat this year. I had a couple small sections that were faded and some deep scratches. I was blown away at how well Chop Top worked on all of it. It’s starts out at ~1000grit and as your work it turns to a fine polish. I hit some beat up areas with a rotary and wool pad, then went over the whole boat with a DA and polishing pad with the same Chop Top compound. Normally this would take several steps. I’m going to try the Cherry Ceramic wax this go round. I have had ceramic professionally applied and it seems to hold up for about 6 months.

Anyone else try Woody Wax?
They target salt water boats as their market.
Spray on wax then a metal sealer for bright work.
The wax/ sealer process is the only thing I've found that protects v-drive rigging from the high mineral content damage on the river.

Issue with mine was it was polished then clear coated, that’s why i chose to powder coat all my hardware this past fall.
My swim steps are currently being polished, but undecided where to go from there… I was actually considering clear coating them, what was the issue with yours? My other option is anodizing them. What color did you go with yours for the powder coat?

Thanks

Excellent! I love their stuff. If you're brave enough to go after it with a wool and rotary, you will be fine coating it yourself. Their beadlock marine is good stuff. It will outlast 6 months if you use it with some aftermath and once in a while lay some ignition down.

Any particular reason you went chop top and not flat top? It may have saved you the wool step into one. I used chop top on mine, but it could have used a more aggressive compound at the time, and wool with a rotary is outside my skill set.

I will have to try that. Do you pour the Coke on the foil, or on the wheel? I have the same wheels.

The clear after so many years just started looking bad. I went with a Prismatic powder called Heavy Silver. Wasn’t going for the polished look went for the silver closest to the silver on my bote

I pour it on the foil, but it is ultimately going on the wheel either way. It doesn't take much, I did all four of my wheels with less than a quarter of a bottle. Makes you think what that stuff does to your insides when you drink it o_O

Did you spray on your boat or vehicle? If boat how easy was it to wipe down your boat after boating? I was considering using this product a friend of mine used it on his truck and looked great. My boat is ceramic coated, I use boat bling hot sauce works well. I feel that the vinegar may wear down my ceramic over time. The turtlewax product may help extend it longer.
I have used it on both and feel it is equally impressive. When we pull off the water the boat gets soft water spray off for the sand on way into garage then a home made vinegar,409,windex, water solution wipe down then a turtle wax ceramic hybrid wipe down. To some it may seem like extra work for nothing but it goes fast kids do the rinse and first wipe, wife makes my tumbler of whiskey and RC while I pull the coolers then doors close with the cooler on, they go inside while I relax and wipe down the boat with my drink.

I bought and used several bottles of each.
The Green bottle Turtle Wax Carnuba is useless. Bad results every time.

The Black bottle Meguiars Carnuba leaves streaks.

The Red bottle Meguiars works fantastic. No streaks, shines fantastic and the shine lasts.
Red Bottle usually on the shelf sold out or on back order on Amazon/Walmart and that may be sign others like it as well.

x10 for Shine Supply. Only use Shine Supply on my personal vehicles with 1000% satisfaction. The detail in which he explains each product, what they do, etc., are a big reason why. Also, been using the boat products since they came out.

They also have a waterless wash called Eco Shine. I use that after a day on the water if I am out of aftermath. Works easily as well.

Same results as the red bottle from this. $40/gallon.

Nice! I need to figure it out, I like the shiny polish look, especially because the boats older, but then I like the dull finish from anodizing or a powder coat.

Thanks again.

This?
I think you're right. No carnauba. Just ordered it.
Carnauba has it's advantages and disadvantages.

Yes. It has a different smell but performs the same as the red bottle stuff from my experience.

They don’t sell this one is small bottles.

Nautishine has worked great for me, not only from the lower river water & backwater scum, but the ocean salt crusties as well.
I buy a gallon at a time & it lasts great.

I rarely wipe my shit down while I'm on vacation, maybe a quick once-over to the cowling lightly, or the heavy scum line along the water line.
I usually just wait till I get home & do it the following weekend.

If it's baked on pretty good. I'll use the Nautieshine with a magic eraser in the stubborn spots . . . easy peasy.

Exactly! Jeremy tells you how and why each product works. So you know it's limitations and how to use it properly. That's why we are so satisfied with the results. Expectations meet reality.

I find build up with a lot of the spray wax products used over and over.

I use the 3M Compound with wax and use a buffer with foam pads. Lucas or Boat Candy for a quick wipe but sparingly.
They have a medium which we use on the ocean boat. Pad choice based on how bad we feel the oxidation is.

I tried a couple different ceramic coating packages and unless you have a professional do it with some kind of guarantee its just not worth the coin.

Yea it’s not dull at all in the sun. It’s actually super shiny silky and has beautiful sparkle. If you see us out and about stop by and take a peek.

It looks great what you went with but I can't imagine taking off my engine mounts as they look just as bad as the steps do.

Bring it by this June, you’ll be too busy to boat anyway with the new pool.

Chop top is another cutting compound. It is less aggressive than flat top. Just depends how aggressive you need to be. Flat top is more for gel coat.
The Shine Supply products are the absolute best.

I use the Sunsetter on the vinyl. Its a cleaner and conditioner that does not yellow like some of the other products. It also is not greasy after its applied.

I use the aftermath for a wipe down on the ramp. I prefer it over other similar products.

They have a product called, Solution that is a multi use cleaner. I use it to clean up the transom scum but it has many uses.

There are other Shine Supply products that I use to keep the boat shiny and protected. I rarely use any wax products anymore on the gel coat as they just don't hold up and there are better products nowadays.
