I feel stupid. Owned a nice white one in the mid eighties. Porsche alloys, 2020 cc motor etc. Sold it for big money $ 5,500 back then.

Single or double, it's still a Transporter. Nice one, looks built! OG turbo style too, not a Subaru motor or an Ecotech.

Pretty rare too. I've only seen a few.

I had a buddy that owned a Porsche junkyard in 70/80/90s and would buy those clapped out work trucks in Germany. Stuff them full of Porsche parts, throw a tarp over the back and ship them back to California. Sold the Porsche parts for $$$ and sold the truck for $.

I had a 66 single cab, 66 bus, 69 fast back, 71 square back, 68 baja, 64 bug with oval conversion, 66 bug. Miss the single cab the most

My Buddy John at PowerHaus can't build them fast enough. Not sure what they cost.

My neighbor a few doors over his a vanagon double cab transporter if that's what this is called. Just showed up in his driveway next to his electric truck.

They make a really nice motor. $5K is the starting point for a 1600, but it's built with all new parts including an aluminum Autolinea case.

I haven't bought a VW motor in YEARS, but the last one I did buy, got me two speeding tickets. It ran GREAT!!

I should have never sold my '61 bug.

Haha, are you asking about John's big turbo motors? They'are around 20K.

I've know John for about 25+ years, since he worked at Serrano's, then Powerhaus, then helped him move the shop after he bought the business from the original Dave's Powerhaus.
