Volt or Amp gauge?

I am about to start a complete re wire of my 21’ Eliminator. I am going to replace all the gauges, switches, lights and wiring.

I thought I heard something a while ago about one being better then the other for some reason. It seems as though a volt gauge is the most common.

Volt gauge is much easier. And Way less dangerous to wire with alternators putting out 100 plus amps these days.
