LMAO. It has zero effect 99.99% of the companies in the DOW or NASDAQ. I love it & hope it tumbles another 30%, in which I'll jump in with sideline money, because there's absolutely no long term ramifications from some people getting sick in a remote town in China.

People are so easily manipulated.

They love to travel... Irvine, Vegas, tour buses to all our parks. Vegas and Airlines take a hit. Hopefully it goes the way of Ebola and SARS and falls off of the news cycle, then the markets will go back up.

Think again, where do you think those NASDAQ and DOW companies get their products. Its Chinese New Year, all the factory worker are at home visiting family and with the travel restrictions, they can't get back. Most factories are extending their closure another week or two at this moment. I work in hi tech and we are expecting to be impacted substantially, there is a real connection to viruses and factory output and revenue/profits........

According to CDC between 12,000 and 60,000 die each year from the flu.
I think 17-18 season was actually 80k but you never heard about it. Now the sky is falling?

In Wuhan yes....the report i heard on One America News the other night is this is a huge problem in that city. The chicoms are drastically under reporting the severity of this problem. In other words their putting the world at risk in an attempt to save their image. Peeps are dropping like flies, their hospitals/med. Systems are highly over-whelmed and the gov't is covering it up. They currently do not have a known anti-body for this. This absolutetly has wide spread lethal potential. This shit is real.

I sold off all equities last week. Hopefully this virus doesn't follow the models or we are all in trouble. So far it looks bad. The market should be pretty rocked by the end of this week.

I went to the City Clerks Department today to order my passport. As soon as I walked in the office there were four Chinese people in line in front of me, a Husband & Wife along with their Baby and the Baby's Grandmother. The Grandmother was full-on wearing one of those antiviral face masks. As soon as I saw her that 1% part of my brain said Fuuuuuck while the other 99% of my brain was trying to convince the other 1% everything was good.o_O

It's the flu for Gods' sake & there is absolutely no way it can directly impact the market. The media latched on to it & the geniuses on wall street have to. They'll make billions from the hysteria. That being said, buy, buy, buy is what I'll do if this continues.

It is the flu.. but very potentially becoming a pandemic. 56 million quarantined... borders shut.. 2.5 % mortality.. growing exponentially... No way it can impact the market? Why did the market go down today? Emotion impacts the market and confidence.. or lack of it.. uncertainty... travel.. retail... energy... airlines.. pharma... pretty impactful ... what will tomorrow bring? I think more downward market numbers.. with no end in sight until there is some calm.. Most people are not aware that the avian flu killed 50 to 100 million people in 1918.. 3 percent of the worlds population.. We have better medicine now of course but more people and more air travel to spread a pandemic quickly. In another week watch the numbers.. I hope I am wrong.. I will also buy in on the market after it crashes.. long term I know it is a good thing.. short term.. it will be ugly..

Well you do sound racist and ignorant. By the way it's asians, oriental refers to things not people. Also, muslims not mooslims.

The population could use a good thinning out.

The nice thing about a virus is, it can't be accused of being racist, blamed on Trump or Conservatives.
Yet... :p

They could get control of the virus and if recent history is repeated... they will. In the case of Sars and Mers its impact was overexaggerated. Or... this could continue for then next year and cause major problems all over the world. There are many unknowns. I think the market will be very much a see saw until this virus starts to stabilize. I am betting on a downward trend until it starts to improve. Probably many opportunities to jump in and out.. In a few more days we will know so much more... should be a fun ride.

I bought CODX yesterday at 2.50 and sold at 3.33 yesterday. They are testing vaccines for this corona virus deal.

It dropped again so I picked up a few shares again today at 2.70 for fun :D
The best time to buy is after something crashes. Bought GRUB at 39 a month or so ago and sold at 57. I am on a decent streak right now with a couple of others. I'm a minor leaguer compared to ole Shin

It isn't the flu there homeslice. Otherwise they would be calling it, you know, influenza. Most deaths from the Flu are elderly and those with compromised immune system. This little bug is taking out healthy adults.

Ultra contractable viruses such as this should at least give us some pause. Airlines are now halting flight to mainland China.

But hey, whatever floats your boat here.

Automakers are shutting-down plants...this absolutely affects the market.
