What is everybody paying these days for insurance in California?

I realized I am paying almost $4K/yr for a 2017 GMC 2500 Denali 4x4 and 2015 GMC Yukon Denali. Full top coverages with $500 deductible. Wife and I are 42 years old with perfect driving records.

Got 2 other quotes from top companies and they are both almost the same to what I am paying now. WTF? Am I missing something? Does that seem high or no?

unfortunately no, I pay $1,600 a year for basic coverage and a $2500 deductable on an 07 Escalade.

raise your deductible and the premium will come down, but we’ll still be paying for all the uninsured motorists in this state

Double check the increase in premium for a lower deducted. We had a 1k deductible for the longest time thinking this way. We lowered to 500 and the increase in premium was minimal. Thinking of going to 250. I’m sure every situation is different but for us wasn’t worth keeping the higher deductible.

Damn I
Read right over your 2500 deductible. OUCH

I don't think I pay that for 12 vehicles fully insured. granted the newest one is a 1988 dually. I won't complain too much.

I have a good agent, Tonia Arnold at State Farm in Norco. I paid $130 a month on the 400hp M3 and I'm 34. Suburban and Miata is cheap I forget how much, full coverage.

Whatever you do don't go with a discount insurance. Go with AAA or Statefarm. Proggressive is good too, parents have GMAC also good.

What is the average miles driven to work and back, and etc.? ..Though it's low mileage for us, We're just under 2k a year with one of 3 being 2020 GMC 2500 Denali 4x4 listed as a commuter.

Maybe try giving Wawanesa Insurance in San Diego, CA 92186 1-800-640-2920 a call as that's who we use with good results for about 10 years now.

2014 f150 4x4 and a 2011 cts-v.
500 deductible and $2400 per year through Mercury.
Both good drivers at 63 and 58.
The V is actually more than the f150.

Wife and I are both 48 with good driving record.
Insurance through Costco - Connect American Family (formerly Ameriprise)
300k coverage - $500 deductible for collision and $250 deductible for comprehensive $0 deductible uninsured motorist
2017 - F150 4x4 - $747 year
2020 - Camry SE - $683 year
2009 - Jeep JK Rubicon - $519 year

Used to have AAA for 20+ years ad couldn't beat Costco. Pays for the membership. Have homeowners for two homes CA/AZ through the same so it is a bundle.

Thanks all. It seems high. I am getting alternative quotes, AAA is looking good! But they will not insure my boat, RZR or buggy.

Too hard to compare insurance costs between people...credit score, driving record, teen drivers, zip code, usage( no work or school, mileage driven, deductibles, etc. etc. I am in Riverside, Ca.
Liberty Mutual, 2000 Ferrari 360 and 2020 Benz AMG C43, $1486 for a whole year. Benz is like $900, rest on the 360.
Geico, 2016 GMC Sierra 1500, 2017 Ford GT350, both are a little over $800 per year, policy is like $1627 for a whole year.
Geico, 2019 Glaston 18’ fish/ski, $38K value, $270 a year.

Another thing to consider is claims service and repairs done by your insurance company, the cheapest policy is not aleways the best policy. we had 2 claims over the years with Liberty and I was very happy with the process and service.

We’ve had Wawanesa for 18 years. Zero issues and they are local, out of San Diego. We had perfect driving records - I know they don’t take drivers with more than 2 points on their record.

Holy crap in 10 years most of your paying 40 to $60,000 to your insurance company that is highway robbery and that money ain't going to the highway I will guarantee you that. We have Nationwide Insurance

Replacement costs kill you guys with trucks and high value vehicles. Full coverage (usually with riders for newer vehicles to cover the gap) is expensive as shit....

No insurance co wants to pay out on a 90-120k total.

I use AAA and get reamed, but they never fuck with me, and always take my side.

What city and state?
Its not like most of us don’t shop around. Nationwide was more expensive than USAA for me.

AAA is looking promising. As I said in my original post we are at almost $4K with 2 vehicles and on top of that $3200 for homeowner insurance due to high fire zone.

so far with AAA quote:
$3500 for 2017 GMC Sierra Denali 4x4, 2015 GMC Yukon XL Denali, ‘04 Fleetwood Discovery 39S, ‘09 Haulmark 24’ stacker. All $500 deductible and highest limits

AAA- $1750 for homeowner insurance.

They won’t do the boat, golf cart, buggy, RZR or our park model in Havasu. So will probably keep most of that with Wozencraft ($1900/yr) except park model which I just got a $200 lower quote from current insurance company ($650/yr now).

overall savings look to be almost $3K for everything!! :)

total insurance will probably be around $8K per year for everything.
