I’m going to be trading my Yukon in shortly but it has aftermarket wheels.

Will they hurt the value of the trade in?

Nope, but do you have the stockers? You might be missing out on putting those back on and selling your aftermarkets.

Details on the Yukon, is it older? High Miles? If so it will probably just roll to auction anyways

There usually is very little value(vs cost) added by bluebook for wheels
I’m more worried about the inverse, getting less money because it’s not stock.

I sold the stock wheels because they were desirable and I got good money, so there wouldn’t be much money in swapping back to stock to sell my aftermarket. My worry is I will get less for the truck because it’s not stock.

It’s a 2015 Yukon XL Denali with 107k miles. Probably worth about 25k at a dealer.

They most likely won’t care. I would also check Car Max. One of our last trade ins the car max down the street from the dealer gave us more money.

What about a cat back exhaust? I have the stock but it will be hard to coordinate an exhaust shop welding it back on because most them aren’t open on weekends.

I know Carvana absolutely didn’t not my my last car with an exhaust, they knocked the price down by 30% lol

That’s a tactic they’ll use. If you have a price in mind then hold to that price so long as it’s fair. If they don’t want your business then they’ll tell you with how you’re treated.

The dealer doesn’t drive the process, you do. Ultimately you compromise at what’s fair for you and fair for the dealer. Easy peasy.

That might be a little bit tougher. I know when I worked at Ford that the Used Car Manager would start poking around the car more if they heard an exhaust system, they think other things may be touched with motor also.

I wouldn’t think a cat back exhaust would be a problem as long as all the original smog crap is still there and operable.

Coming from someone who appraises trades daily (me), as long as the wheels look good and doesn't have rubber band tires you should be fine. Chris is right about being more careful when there's mods, as long as it will still smog and is legal the cat back doesn't hurt the value. I like those mods if they're done right, makes it easier to resell as it will draw more leads from the listing sites. If the wheels are ghetto, hurts the value and will get a reduced trade in.

Get a PRINTED value from Carmax
Then you have a good baseline as to going price. Trade in wise

With that mileage pending if it’s Supper clean it’s going strait to auction
Give me the vin .com also is a good starter

Nice for sale thread
I just want it gone, no time to deal with a private party sell lol

However if someone wants to give me 21k this weekend it’s yours.

I know that Car Max will lower the price they'll pay for a vehicle with aftermarket wheels.

Well the Yukon ended up getting traded in last night, they didn’t seem to care about any mods as it would just go to auction. They took about four pics, started it, and that was it.

Ended up with a new CX90 PHEV, not exactly an exciting car but it should sever our family well for the time being.

There was a $7500 rebate and with a 26 mile range it can easily drop the kids off at school, grab groceries, etc without using gas 99% of the time.

I hadn’t driven it with the battery charged until today, its initial acceleration is solid.

And if want to drive to Idaho, you can do that too! 💪

Awesome choice IMO. Depending on how its used the engine may never run. LOL. The third row is actually doable for kids.

We have a CX90 Preferred but with the 6 Cyl mild Hybrid. This is my first Japanese vehicle I've owned and except for a couple software recalls were happy with the car.

We go in for the 1st oil change next week. All covered by Mazda. Not a bad deal and I dig the dual captains chairs in the second row. My kids are grown.

That 48v mild Hybrid system keeps us right around 20-21 in town if you can stand the auto stop/start crap. Decent power and a 5k tow rating.
$44K plus tax. So far good money spent IMO.

This is the first Japanese vehicle we’ve had as well. I had not even considered it until I decided that whatever vehicle we bought next would be temporary and with nothing appealing on the used market that maybe we should lease. I do like the fact that the captains chairs slide all the way forward so even with car seats it’s easy to access the third row.

I have never leased a car before but the CX90 kept coming up as recommended.

We ended up with a 3 year 36k mile lease at $500 a month with $1500 down, MSRP was $57,000.

I think it’s an OK deal but to be honest I have no clue. My family will have a nice new car with a warranty for the next 3 years and that is what’s important to me, especially after my Yukon escapade.

Sounds like you did just fine. Good looking car in white.

Ours is Soul Red and in the sun with my minor color blindness I don't know what the hell color it is except its hard to keep clean.

It’s crazy how much the price has came down. I bought it for $34k with 82k miles exactly 3 years ago, that was $8k under KBB at the time.

If I would have paid KBB for it I would have been way upside down!

With the way the economy is going I figured no matter what way I went on a used car I’d be losing my ass eventually, especially with 8-10% rates. Thats why I opted to lease.
