From outside Tacoma to San Diego. Its an old beater Land Rover. What do you think it will cost?

Any recommendations? There's a zillion companies that show up on google, but they all seem to be middlemen...

I used Falcon Transport for some beaters. Had to be 10-12 years ago though. They were the reasonable I found the for shipping some 1950's drivers to and from San Francisco. Only had open haulers I believe.

Depends. Hopefully you can get the car on a car carrier with other customers splitting the cost.

To get a rough estimate you can go on eBay motors and get an online price just by filling out to-from on any auction vehicle.

I shipped an Audi from Renton to LAX a few years ago using Uship. I got several bids from guys and settled on one for $600. Dude literally drives up and down the west coast continuously picking up and dropping off cars. It was an open trailer, which required me to do some deep cleaning after my car was delivered.

I’d use Uship again.

That route is paying drivers about $500-550, the brokers a keeping anything above that. Rates are in the toilet right now in general and even worst for drivers heading into kilifornia. I don’t use uship, but I know some brokers are filtering through it and grabbing loads to realist elsewhere. What ever you do make sure they have a good rating and commercial insurance, dot and MC numbers. Pm me if would like. I can help out, but I personally don’t really operate in California.

Methinks the lowest rate will be to ask someone in the biz, to put the transport up onto Central Dispatch.

If I was in the biz still, I’d hook you up [emoji4]

When I had my Silverado shipped from Michigan, I couldn’t get good pricing since our enclosed trucks leaving the area were always full with paying customers/carmaker vehicles.

I put up a low-ball price onto Central Dispatch and increased it by $50/day until someone bit a few days later. I think I started at $800 and it ended up at $1050.

that’s was exactly my offer. To post it on a few load board, central included and screen the drivers (a positive rating, insurance, license, DOT and MC number)

that’s the norm, post low and increase as the need to move increases. Sometimes brokers make the same as drivers and other times they spoof and don’t make anything.

I’m will to post peoples stuff for free, if I don’t service the area.

I can do enclosed, open, oversized and trailers. I can haul boats on their own trailers loaded onto my trailer through a track system.

Pornstar, I bought a car Honda off a secretary you listed when you worked in advertising. I’d love to talk to you about the enclosed transport business you were involved with.

Anyone shipped a vehicle lately who may have updates to this old thread? I need to get a Wrangler from Utah, to the FL Panhandle. I wanted to use Reliable, however they're having driver issues, and suggested it would 6 weeks before they could pick it up.

Just shipped 2 VWs (R32, Golf R) from Carlsbad to Wilmington NC. Used Amerifreight (broker). Actual shipper was insured/licensed etc… Open carrier, top load. Cars picked up 2 days after order placed, delivered 8 days later. Perfect condition, no issues. $1500/car. I can provide contact info for the broker if you’d like.

Hey that seems pretty reasonable. If you have anything handy over me doing a Google search, that would be great.

I ended up using U-Ship. It took a few days to get it worked out. Eventually my Rover showed up. A 1967 five door 109 is the project, Haven't done much to it yet. I think the cost was right around $1050 from Tacoma to San Diego
