So, I picked up a COPART special, 2003 F350 6.0 diesel. Not 100% sure But I think is has had the ECM flashed to a tuner. No tuner included with the purchase. Just wondering, if anyone was able to locate a previous owner, on a deal like this? How did you find them? I don't want to pester them, just get some history on the truck. FYI, just bootlegged it from devore to HB, no plates, or reg. it runs great.

TIA

Funny sold my last truck with a tune. Forgot to flash back or give the device To the purchaser. That was 12 years ago. Found the programmer box about 10 years later. Would have totally given it if they had asked. I think that I dumped it about a year ago.

With Copart it's tough. It depends on if it was a trade in that was sent to auction, or a repo deal. If it had the "diet", no one in Cali will fess up, legality and such. A good shop can probably hook it up to a laptop though, and see what's been changed.

Easiest fix is have Ford reflash it to stock, if it's been tuned and you want a stock tune. Kinda the point of auctions is to release all responsibility from the previous owner... Auctions are buyer beware, buy at your own risk. Some people take it a step further and scrap all their old assets.
