We arrive on Sunday before the event (staying at a house in the resort), and will hit some of the activities early and then as it gets crowded, we bounce. When we bounce, we head to Zion and are planning to ride on the east side of Zion south of Mt. Carmel Junction. Should be a fun full week of shenanigan's!

Hmmm. I went last year. Didn't experience the area very much. I need to go again.
We were alone, me and Mrs. I dont get to far out in the dirt that way. Especially since I don't know the place.
I know wind blew crazy the day after.
Might need to book something

I think we are going to do this just trying to decide if we should do an air BBQ or take the MH
I like the Air BBQ also makes for Low Cal Stays in destination unknown very easy!

lol

as a Griller, a smoker and a Beer drinker … I couldn’t resist
not saying anything about an RDP’ r

lol

If Matt has to come save you somewhere then you owe every inmate a beer.

I am thinking about attending this year..
What are the rules/ regs to drive your UTV in UT…

For those of you with Toy Haulers, where do you typically stay?

Any details would be greatly appreciated

You need a non resident UT registration and a UTV safety card.

No toyhauler here, but Sand Hollow State Park has pull thru campsites with hookups. The bummer is that I just looked for one last week for another friend and nothing was available. There could be a chance that if you go through the UTVTakeover.com website there could be something available (and discounted now for labor day). The State Park lets UTV Takeover staff manage some campsites for the event. Worth a look.

I rent a house thru Sand Hollow Resorts, its close and easy to the state park and event without the crowds. I get a garage and pool too

Another option, I am not familiar with but have seen rigs camping off of and in the area of Warner Valley. It would be a short drive to the State Park for event from there.

There are lots of areas to dry camp and drive into the event.

A group of us from NorCal will be doing a Bar 10 Ranch trip the week before the Takeover and we were too late to get reservations in any of the developed campgrounds.

We are all capable and comfortable dry camping in our toy haulers for a week. What locations would you recommend we take a look at that we could transit to the Takeover from?

What is your transit situation? Street legal UTV? Not street legal UTV or towing your UTV to Sand Hollow?

There is quite a bit of open camping along the 7 Parkway on the AZ side. It is probably a 20-25 min ride from the River Road/7 exit shown below, all off-road into Sand Hollow. The BLM road there is one that leads down to Bar 10. Bar 10 is about 60 miles from this spot.

You can keep cruising up the 7 a few miles to the Warner Valley area. Since you will be early, you can probably get a good spot that is closer to Sand Hollow.

The Bar 10 trip sounds great!

There is also this area just past Long Valley drive. This is another few miles East on the 7 past River.

Lots of people dry camp here, south of the parkway, so expect more crowds. It’s just a few mins to Sand Hollow off road.

Hope this helps. If it isn’t clear drop me a line.

"What is your transit situation? Street legal UTV? Not street legal UTV or towing your UTV to Sand Hollow?"

One AZ plated street legal car and the 3 others are rocking CA Green Stickies so we will need to stay off highway as much as possible.

The spots you shared above look right up our alley. Some of the party are worried about the Invasion being a shit show so some separation will ease their anxiety.

Thanks again.

No problem. The River Road area will have less people for sure. Generally, there is very little law enforcement there as well, so if you needed to run up River Road to get gas or something you'd be OK. UT is reciprocal with street reg, so your AZ plated UTV on the street should be OK. If you have any question let me know!

This one is coming up fast...

plan ahead if you need to get a "non resident registration" sticker.
Thanks for the reminder. I will be attending. I have ever been to Sand Hallow or a UTV takeover event. camping on the beach, two speed cars and a RZR.

I booked my campsite… Beachpod area 17.
Bringing Toyhauler, KRX 1000, two KTM 300’s and who know what else we can fit. LOL.

Very curious to see the mythical “Speed Car”, do they actually exist???
I am not a believer yet… Havent seen one in real life. LOL.

Scenery was great, had alot of fun.

Accidentally went thru some 10 trails, which made me use 4wd low once. LOL

KRXs eat those trails up.

Towed 2 4 seater Pro Rs and a few Can Ams out of bad spots. Cracks me up, my used $14k KRX tows the $50k cars out of bad spots. But I dont get stuck on the same trails?

Cant count how many RZR and Can Ams replacing belts.

Hope the Speed cars live up to the hype. Saw a few of them at the event, in the booths, but didnt see one in the trails. Thats what I wanted, see one in rock climbing area.

My son was exhausted after riding dirtbikes thru that sand, he loved it, but its alot of work.
