I’ve seen a few older skis with these little “EZ-UP” plastic dealios. Can someone please explain how they work and if they actually worked?

Thank you!

Never used it myself so don't know how it actually works. Place to put the v in the rope to lighten up the pull from a deep start, help keep the ski straight.

That is when you use a v bridle single handle. It keeps the rope form getting stuck.

It used a ski rope like this. The extra line below the handle hooks on it and helps hold the ski straight. I had one for my kids.

I used to be a fan of the deep vee single handle as it really helped beginners on one ski if they weren't using a double handle. Until I was working at a ski school and one of the customers used the deep vee single, on the start he didn't keep his butt down, hands/body went forward, and he pinched his finger between the ski and the handle and lost part of his finger past the knuckle. I've never seen this idea posted, but makes sense and would be designed to keep the scenario above from happening.
Better off learning with double handles.

You are old school like I am, all we used were double handles (Glad handles) back when I learned. And ski belts or molded jackets!

I miss the old Glad handles, better than the waffle handles. I never had a ski belt, my Dad did, but I did have the molded jacket!
