A friend called earlier today to see if I wanted to go boating in Havasu this afternoon, I said sure why not!

Well I'm on the way to Havasu now and another friend just called me to let me know that boat I'm going in is an HTM !

I'm thinking about turning around an head to Fox's instead. At least they're the worst that can happen to me is I fall off a bar stool or get attacked by some old Parkabilly broad with a poor smile and hairy arm pits.

First time I rode in it was pretty memorable.
It wandered idling thru the channel.
I got religion at 60...

I know I kid about HTM, but there was a time I wanted one so bad.

This boat felt solid, no porpoise and rolled right over with minimal effort or speed. At 80 or so the boat lifted and really started to pick up speed at almost an alarming rate. Turns were relatively flat.
This is only the third cat that I've been in, the first a water rod and now this HTM so I had no idea what to expect. With me driving, it could only lead to some frightened passengers.

looks like a great day on the lake. digging the boating content during what some call the "off season"!
I have only been on an HTM once and I know stories are out there and we poke fun at them all the time, without being distasteful I always laughed when I heard they look the same upside down.
I would prefer to be on the water on a calm day like you had vs. a busy choppy day for sure. I need a boat ride, looking forward to next week.

Reports are all over the map. Some say "drivers boat". I feel like most cat's are a driver's boat though, you trim them wrong and they let you know it....
Some say they are an awesome family boat. Some say they are a coffin. They are indisputably fast and usually rigged with big power, so remember that when people talk about how many of them have crashed. Lots of 1000hp+ 24' HTM's running around, so some of that comes with the territory. I've heard the SS-24 is more stable than the SR-24, which has alot more freeboard and some thing that contributes to a"top heavy" feel VS the SS model.

I'd catch a ride on one and make your own judgment.

HTM really brought the high speed cat to the west coast masses, learning curve for many was steep. Most of the flips I had heard about were at pretty low speeds. I dont think they are different than any other cat, there are things you can and cant do, nothing new there.
