PVC fitting saver. This will save your ass just in time savings if you ever work on sprinklers or PVC/ABS pipe. It will precisely cut the PVC pipe out of a PVC fitting so said fitting can be reused by inserting a fresh pipe, instead of disassembling everything and reconstructing an entire joint or T.
You can find them for $25 or so each from Grainger.

More expensive here, but these are billet (LOL) and show demonstration pictures.

I believe I need a set also...

What exactly did you buy?
Just remember, you'll need one for each size and schedule of pipe you are dealing with .
I have a set ,but my 3/4 schedule 40 has gone missing and I use the shit out of that one,at least I used to....

How do concrete guys pour curb and sidewalk same day? This tool. They pour everything at once and tool in what looks like the curb. It still is a curb but poured with the sidewalk. Monolithic pour. This for a 6" top of curb. They have 4", 6", 8", 12" and custom sizes at Roseburrough Tool in Orange. I have 4 of the 6" ones. 2 by hand, 2 by pole and different joint sizes.

I built a sailboat years ago and accumulated a bunch of unique tools, got rid of most of them but still have the spokeshave and a drawknife somewhere

No thanks, Looks like it could spin at anytime to me. ;)

You can hardly even feel them move. They oscillate at like 15,000 oscillations a minute and only move about a 1/16". Nowhere near enough to cut soft things like skin.

If you have one of those (oscillating tools), you'll want one or more of these:

QBit+Picture.png

It's a QBit by Magnepull - cuts box openings in sheetrock and plywood like butter and you can use the piece to patch holes if need be.

Sizes are here: https://magnepull.com/qbit-sizes

They're not yet in Home Depot - you can buy them direct or other locations: https://magnepull.com/where-to-buy-qbit

They have other cool tools too: https://magnepull.com/

I know the people at Magnepull (they're in Texas) and they have some great products.

That is badass!

Had a guy install some kitchen cabinets during a remodel show up with one of these. I bought one the next day.

Those can cut with such high precision for a handheld powered saw, it's awesome!

When we redid our kitchen a couple years back I saw one and thought, What the hell, and bought one. Best purchase of the whole damn process made lights go in like butter, wish the wiring part was as easy.

While installing over 60 recessed light fixtures in my nephew's house a few months ago I bought one of these hole saws at HD that has the catch pan for all the debris as you're drilling in the ceiling. actually works well and helps to contain the mess from the drywall.

I like that but last I checked they're expensive. I typically just use a piece of wood (factory cut edge) and screw it to the wood I'm cutting

I believe there are several corded versions that have been priced very well now, but yeah I definitely could not jump into the Festool market. The perk of having any of the saws they all fit other manufacturers tracts. Nothing wrong with doing the straight edge dealio though. It's just really fast and the cuts are unbelievably smooth.

I also have a router adapter that goes into the track for plunges. Not bad for an Ironworker I guess.

I used a makeshift version of one of those to lift and move a 9,000lb machine around my shop with no other assistance, by myself. Get it up on some round bar stock and roll it, pivot it, etc.

Exactly! They really make Archimedes quote of "Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world." Seem quiet possible.

I paid $60 for these. The Bosch templates are garbage though. Some jackass tore up all the templates with the router bit and must have dropped them as the ears are broke. The PC ones are still good and got 4 templates. For those that do not know these are door hinge template guides. You assemble them on I guess a track for better lack of terms. It holds the hinge spacing you decide on. You pin nail it to the door frame and use a router to cut the hinge pockets. Remove it from the door frame and nail it to the hinge side of the blank door then router those hinge pockets. It's more for production if you have a lot of doors to hang. If I had an assembled picture it would make more sense.

when we use to do a lot of wood we use to buy PC 505 1/2 sheet sanders for $105, brand new . They had a more elliptical pattern so they wouldn't swirl dark stain. This was prior to dynabrade coming to the market. we bought a used one for a filled finish top, as ours from years back were all gone, cost us $135 for one with about 100,000 miles on it.

Same here, not a door hanger but the son of one. My old man owns a finish carpentry company that has employed an inmate or 2 from here about 15 years ago.
