Finally added this baby to our fleet. 08 Ultra Shadow 26ft with a 565 pfaff motor (1050 i think) from my boy Havasukid. We have been talking about this boat for months and waiting for him to close the deal from the seller. He had a few minor things cleaned up and i headed out to Havasu last Tuesday to test it out. Got to meet the man him self RD along with many others.

Motor is healthy and responsive. I really wanted a merc motor and may still swap this out, but for the summer we will rock it. Cruises 75 at 3000rpm no problem, with instant throttle response. Never had blower motor so should be interesting. Have a list of upgrades that will be coming, but most will have to wait till winter, we planed pretty much every other weekend at the water from Laughlin to Hidden Shores. The wifey loves boating and needless to say so do the little ones.

Took a quick day trip to a local lake yesterday at Canyon Lake. Pics attached

Anyone looking to build a bigger motor and or knows of a 525, 565 or 600sci that wants to sell/trade plus cash etc please let me know. I have no need for this motor in this boat, will pay all cost involved in swap if deal works out.

List of upgrades planned-

1. Motor Swap - off season unless a deal pops up
2. Full interior change to be done by West Coast Interiors. Likely a poker run style with new hatch (belt tensioner hits the hatch cover) and possible hidden bimini
3. New cover with Sunshade supreme material (has felt lining on back side) and full water proof - Goes in on monday
4. New Bimini top- goes in monday
5. Half Cap front and back- off season by Rusty at ultra
6. Stereo reduction, currently has 4 18's and 4 12's 6 amps and 8 6's mids. With the sub level turned as far negative as possible its enjoyable. Going to remove at least half the subs and amps get rid of the weight and re wire the entire system during interior (very sloppy)
7. Minor gel coat scratches repaired when it gets capped.

Not a huge rush for most as they will prevent months of usage this summer which defeats the purpose.

Looking forward to another great summer on the water with the family and friends. Was bummed to miss desert storm, but next year we will plan better.

Thanks again to Saddam (Havasukid) for the deal and ignoring other interested parties despite making less money on me!

Beautiful boat, one of my favorite Ultra gel schemes! Saw it on 10E Wed while driving into Havasu from Phx. Was wondering why you were headed the wrong direction lol

wish they would have left it alone...

Thank is for the offer on my sled. Decided not to sell (Unable to locate a F29 open bow with a single engine).
However let's chat about that engine

I always loved that boat - good for you!

That boat inspired my first Ultra 26 gel pattern.

Here is the motor, for interested parties. Rigging needs TLC once it comes out, but good potential.

Wifey and i talked about the motor situation and she knows me better than i do, told me this morning to just leave this motor in and if anything happens to it we will deal with it then. I was worried about not having the power when needing/wanting it. So for now we are just keeping this bad boy in. Going to have some of the plumbing and wiring cleaned up and have the motor serviced and oil filter cut open. Pending any findings, its party on! We will revisit this issue when we do the interior this winter.

I was wondering how a guy with a 1000HP sand car would run a stock motor. Get your drive built and that boat should serve you well enjoy!
