I talked to Rusty and Andrew (from Outboard Mafia) a couple of weeks ago at Ultra -- they are manufacturing new boats and doing repair work.

Good luck to them. Hopefully they can revive what was once a very prominent boat brand in SoCal.

They are. Just ordered a 28 Shadow deck and Andrew has been an absolute pleasure to work with. He’s answered all my stupid questions and given me good advice/direction!

I even have given Rusty the opportunity to fix a couple gel repairs and sponsons in October. He did not want the work until then so I don’t miss any trips.
He was very honest and knows if he burns me, I will not be shy sharing my experiences.

The 22 shockwave is a much more capable boat then the 23 Ultra.
I like a lot of the Ultras (27 shadow / 21 stealth etc..). But that 23 takes flight in even minor chop.. lol.

As a former owner of two Ultras, it would be great to see them take off again. I always loved mine. Seems like everybody wants the bigger boats now, but I still like 21 ft or less for the river. If i did Powell & Meade regularly though, I'd go big so I could take out after the storms & nobody else is out there. You can do some serious speed then without worrying about others in your way.

Hopefully people post some build pics as they progress.

I’d rather have a place flat out tell me we won’t touch it til a certain date vs yeh we can do it drop it off be done in 3 weeks then 3 weeks nothing another 3 weeks excuses etc.

They are the old Barracuda deck boat. Up close and personal the only thing that could be a negative is no walk off on the rear, but other than that the styling of that boat is 100% imho the best looking deck on the market.

What are your thoughts on the 26 shadow deck? There are reasons i would like to stay below 27. That 26 looks beautiful. Not upgrading anytime soon, but i wouldn't mind one of those 26 shadow decks in the future.
