Uggs house shoes….

Living in Hawaii I have never had to wear house shoes. This winter in Havasu has been a cold. The wife bought a pair of Uggs shoes for the house. Should I keep it from my friends or not worry and come on out of the closet? Asking for a friend.

Years ago I tried some Uggs boots for around the house. About the time they were super comfy, the fluffy wool insole got warn and balled up so it felt like I was walking on rocks. The insole isn't removable, so if you buy a new insole pad, your feet feel cramped up. Then the pricks changed the patter and now the bridge of the foot is way to tight, so my wife can't even wear them anymore.

I switched to Rockport loafer slip-on slippers. The inside is wooly and warm enough, but they look like regular loafers and they sole is made to go outside. I think they're handy, because I can head down to my shop and don't have to unlace anything to jump into my shop / yard clothes or slip on an old pair I keep just for a quick walk out into the grove.

If you see how I dress when I work around outside, like the way most my neighbors see and know me, you'll immediately recognize I don't give even a tiny f*ck what anybody else thinks about my attire.

Anybody stopping because they're lost up here, which happens often, usually starts speaking to me in Spanish or inquires if I know English. I don't mind them offering me a bag of used clothing, but I'd prefer a cash donation.

Lol, truth. Besides, if you wear them out and about your feet overheat and end up skanky like @Taboma 's
I will say though, they're great on those cold winter nights in the garage.

Uggs are great for the dunes, they stay in the toy hauler. The dunes are the only public place I will wear them.

I used to keep black ones in the RV for Glamis. I would get up from the fire at night to go take some hot laps. My left one had a silver stain across the top from the shifter on my quad. My wife would ask " why are you the only one in the family with that weird stain on your boots? "

The guy across the street from me IS gay. Totally cool dude. Good friend. What's funny is...

He saw me wearing mine the other day, and was telling me I must be a closet gay, cause I was wearing them!!! He's the first one to call something gay. Dude is a total crack up!

The real Uggs came from Australia back in the 70's. All the surfers were wearing them and that's how they got popular. I got my first pair back in the 70's, and I've rocked a pair ever since. My feet are Always cold, so they work well for me. Now that I'm retired, flip flops and Ugg's are all I wear anymore!

Comfort before style. I'm not a poser like some people on here...
