Recently did some new reeds in the engines as I suspected mine were starting to be pretty worn out. Symptoms are Very hard cold starts and lotsssss of smoke on the launch ramp.Opted to some boysen 2 stage reeds. Sort of an intimidating job but i got it done and it was a great fix. Boat fires right up on the launch with minimal smoke now! The new reeds came with shorter bolts too as the stock ones block a lot of the reed cage. Pretty cool!

Had it out for 4th of July and we had a great time.

It’s time for new and additional gauges. I want to go with livorsi but am having trouble deciding on looks
I’m leaning toward white face, chrome race ring and black angle bezels
Other options are silver face with the rest the same or stick with black face like I have now?
Anyone wanna give their opinion?!
Here’s some pic samples. My dash is the one with the black gauges

I'm a fan of silver gauges. More classy look for your boat.

Definitely a nice upgrade on the gages, really classes up the dash and gives it a more contemporary look. Well done sir!

Awesome boat...If it were mine, I'd go with what is in the center picture. The picture on the right works really well because the gel has silver in it and it ties it in., Your boat has other black accessories in the cockpit that the black angle bezels will tie into.

White matches your boats base, I think silver would look out of place personally. White is timeless.

Different yellow boat Len. 🤣
Ooops, starting Wednesday mornings with a bloody mary is starting to look like a bad life strategy. Thanks for keeping me on my toes.

Summers comin so I wanted to get a head start on some upgrades I’ve been wanting to do.
First thing was adding some water separators for the fuel system. Just a nice piece of mind I guess!

I also drew up and made some fender holders to clean up some of the mess under the hatch since I don’t have ski lockers to shove them into. Got them powder coated black and I couldn’t be more stoked on how they came out.

Here’s a before and after

Any ideas of what to do about that god awful glove box cover? I was thinking of getting a billet offering from Eddie marine. Not sure what color I’d do? Yellow? Black? Machine finish? I wish it wasn’t there honestly but I’m stuck with it for now.

Updates!
I dropped off the boat at WOT marine on December 7 and lots of progress has been made!
First off they found the transom was mostly wet and rotten so the project snowballed

So far they have done an all new transom and knee braces in coosa board and glasses it all in. Since we did a new transom we decided to cap it also so that should look cool. Here’s some progress pics. Can’t want to see it after the gel!

Looking good! I don't even want to know how much that work cost! The good news is, with Coosa, you won't have to ever deal with it again. 👍

In the thick of two projects right now. 4x4 prerunner square body explorer and this boat. But it’s March and the boat has taken priority lately.
I’ve been reluctant to start because I didn’t know exactly how I wanted to rig this thing but I came up with and decided on a plan and layout.
For the outside of the transom I made some baseplates that will sit inbetween the transom and backplates to help spread the load
IMG_9163.jpeg

Inside the boat was the hard part to figure out. The engine bolt holes split the stringer pretty perfectly so that game me an opportunity to tie the engine bolts, transom, and stringer/knee braces all together fairly easily.
I decided I wanted to mount all of my “equipment” to the main base plate I was going to make so laying stuff out took time cuz I wanted it to look as nice and organized as possible.
Everything is drilled and tapped into the 3/8” base plate so no extra holes have been drilled into the new transom!

Here’s what I came up with so far. The center pump is going to control the two jack plates. I decided to go with electric Lenco trim tabs to avoid having 2 extra pumps in the boat.
Next will be figuring out routing for fuel, hydraulic lines and wiring of course but we’re off to a decent start so far!

Everything got taken off today and sent to the powdercoater.

Some more updates. Still unsure how I want to bring the lines for the jack plates through the hull. Anyone got pictures of nice rigging so I can get some ideas?
Anyways. Here’s some pics

These are how the hydraulic steering lines on our DCB is. Very clean, and made by IMCO Nevada. Don’t know if it could work with your setup but worth a call to them.

I like both of those options and was hopi g to find exactly that. I’m going to call them and see if they have them in a -4 size because that’s what the jack plates use
Thanks! I’ll probably put one bulkhead infront of each engine. As low as I can without drilling through the coosa in the transom. I really want to avoid putting more holes in that stuff

Hardin Marine has some also,

I'd also call Teague and ask them what's available, they might be able to make a -4 for you.
