Obviously this isn’t a high end sound system. But for the price it sounded really good in the store, and to me, had better BANG in sub and more surround sound, and the center talking was clearer than similar bigger(aka wider) sound bars with similar center channels.

I always liked and have many Polk speakers. I also have two Samsung soundbars with wireless subs. I really like both. Similar price range. I have no knowledge of the Polk you are showing.
What is the wattage of the Polk

I've been looking at soundbars hard lately. I think I'm the only one that still runs the sound through a receiver. But for some reason my wife won't get with current times and let me buy one. She swears that it sounds better through the receiver.

Well fuck me. I finally agree. If I had my choice I would run everything through the receiver. But ease and just turning on the tv and having the sound bar connected. It’s a really nice alternative. Also nice if you have two separate tv rooms without a full on receiver set up

Yes lol.

If you compare to installing surround sound (paying someone to run wires etc) it’s a break even.

But sound bar vs sound bar Sonos is expensive.

I have a mixed matched hard wired system I’m my main room. Onkyo receiver. Polk front and surrounds and a kliptch sub. Same room has a 300 watt Samsung sound bar with wireless sub for ease for the little woman. Second room is just a 200 watt Samsung sound bar with wireless sub just for better sound.

So which system sounds better?

Sonos is worth every penny.. and if you have all the speakers (sub and rear surround) probably sounds every bit as good as your Receiver. Just my 2 cents.
Most people ask if the Stereo is on.

Obviously the main receiver system. But for the most part the sound bar works just fine. Your also taking roughly 200 bucks against a couple grand.
We are also getting way off track from the OPs question.

for the size and price the magnify mini works well. Really designed for a small tv or small space. The bigger polk or a yamaha will sound better.
the wider sound bars will give you better L-R separation. Most of the better soundbars will have a voice/dialogue setting which will enhance voice frequencies.

We have a lot of Sonos in the house, 12 zones, inside and outside around the pool, garage etc., it’s a pretty impressive way to go these days and so simple to set up.

Purchased a Yamaha sound bar from Costco for about $100. It was money very well spent. There are likely some that are better and more $$. But, this one fits well within our TV arrangement. It is nearly invisible. Sounds

very good, very good lows and good highs. Single unit without a separate sub woofer.

I like the simplicity of the sound bars BUT I like go ole watts! Current set up is : Denon ARV 4100 receiver, (4) Klipsch in wall, Klipsch center and (4) 18's for the subs running on a Peavey 7500 IPR2. Gets the job done ;)

Our new to us house in Tucson came with a 55” Samsung & Sonos soundbar in the bedroom and a 65” Bravia and episode Es500 sound bar with L and R channel as well in living room.
I bought a Yamaha Rx-A2080 receiver to drive it. Sounds better than the Sonos to my untrained ear.

I've got that same one and it is an excellent choice. It's not like the Bose accoustimax that i have going through my amp in the living room but it is a 200% improvement over the TV speakers.

Picked up this Samsung Harmon Kardon Q90 system from Best Buy, not used open box return following day, w warranty for $700. This thing rocks, the base is amazing. Clarity is good also for a sound bar . They demo the model below it at my local Best Buy, and play an airplane landing. Sounded like plane was landing in the store as all customers started tripping out.
